  • Hidden Treasure in Ajijic

"Having just returned from a one month vacation in Mexico and reflecting on our experiences, we feel so very blessed to have found the hidden gem of a home that is the Mexican Sunrise House. Tastefully decorated in true Mexican fashion with all the modern comforts today's traveler expects in their accommodations. I am a cooking enthusiast and really enjoyed the large well laid out kitchen. Breakfasts while watching the sunrise from the master terrace were especially memorable. Leo's home is a short walk to all that Ajijic has to offer, shops, art galleries and restaurants are all within a 5 - 10 minute walk. While only one block off of the main drag, you feel as though you are part of the local community. Leo has thought of everything for his guests comfort and has amassed and organized an abundance of information about Ajijic and surrounding area to help his guests get the most out of their time spent there. We highly recommend this exceptional property for a trip to Ajijic for any reason. Kudos and thanks Leo!"

  • Love this House !!

"This was our second visit to Mimi's beautiful villa. Our group ranged in ages from 21 to 78, everyone loved the house and Ajijic. The gardens continues to be spectacular, the house is spacious and very clean. We love the gourmet kitchen. With all the amazing food in the markets, we cooked delicious meals almost every night. I would recommend this rental to anyone who wants a peaceful Mexican holiday."

  • Another Two Months in Paradise

"This is our sixth year staying with Amy and Aivars. It is like Returning Home for us...to family. Our two month vacation flew by. Amy and Aivars always go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. One case in point had Amy helping for several hours obtaining information for a contact with Mexican Customs on our behalf. They are the perfect hosts. The casita is well appointed, and the covered terrace has always been where we spend our time and enjoy our meals when not dining out at one of the many restaurants available in Ajijic. The gardens are beautiful...with many species of birds and butterflies. Local bus services are available a few minutes from the casita. It is a 20 minute walk to the centre of Ajijic. Groceries are available at the Super Mini a 5 minute walk. We can recommend Yves Restaurant, Alex's Pasta Bar, Perry's Pizza and Monte Cristo's to name a few. Mona and Lucy, the two resident Golden Labs, were our constant companions. If you are looking for day excursions, book a trip with Charter Tours and visit Tequila, the Teuchitlan Pyramids, Mazamitla, or the trip Around the Lake. We would highly recommend this Casita to anyone wanting a relaxing vacation in paradise with wonderful hosts."

  • Everything you need.

"Leo's Jewel House was the perfect answer to our trip to Ajijic. The anbience of the decor set the tone. and the well-done binder on the coffee table gave us guidance. We got to know Francisco at his corner store, taking advantage of his English-speaking taxi service. Gaby at the corner of Juarez and Carretera provided rotisserie chicken for more than one meal. The bakery across the street from Francisco lured us for hot bread every morning. We'll be back."
