  • Family fun in PV

"We had a fantastic one-week stay in Puerto Vallarta thanks in large part to the great facilities in our Bay View Grand penthouse, where we enjoyed wonderful dinners on the expansive terrace while taking in the inspiring view. Our group was composed of two families and included three kids ranging in age from 11-14. The condo was plenty comfortable for all of us, and the amazing array of infinity pools was a big hit with young and mature alike. I think we took a dip every single day of our stay. The condo complex is large but did not feel crowded, partly because it is spread out over seven buildings but also because the connecting pools cover so much space. There are also two tennis courts and a well-appointed gym for those who want to do more than just lay by the pool. You could also play on the beach just beyond the pool, and we went body-surfing one day, but the water is not nearly as clear as in the Caribbean, so we opted for the pool instead. All the facilities are immaculately clean and supervised by security. One of our favorite activities was taking the 10-15-minute walk to the marina, which offered a variety of restaurants and shops, as well as a lively outdoor market on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We must have gone four or five times altogether. We also ventured out to less-touristy areas, including a nearby town called El Pitillal where we found some terrific seafood markets, countless shops and a plaza where they sell homemade tamales early in the morning (till 9) and in the afternoon starting around 6. You won't find them anytime in between. It takes a $5 cab ride to get to the town. Of course, we also explored Puerto Vallarta and all its wonders, including a casual restaurant called Mariscos El Guero where they make some of the best fish ceviche and smoked marlin you'll ever taste. In our PV meanderings we discovered an excellent tequila called Arrete that's not imported to the U.S. It was smooth as silk and cost just $11 for a bottle of the anejo. It was terrific find, and one of the many pleasures of our vacation. A special shout-out to Fernando, the property manager, for his prompt service on our requests -- particularly the deliveries of bottled water -- and to owner Steve Roberts for his easy accessibility and willingness to honestly answer all our questions. They helped make our trip a memorable experience."

  • Spectacular New Year's Eve at Casa Mimi

"The condo was great, with a spectacular view of Banderas Bay. The two queen beds were sufficient for the four of us. There was an extra air mattress on standby, just in case we needed it. Only one bedroom with the two beds, but the view from the living room and kitchen combination opening up to the balcony is just amazing. The layout of the apartment is such that you have full view of the ocean from the bedroom, and full view of the bay from the living room. We were met at check-in by a representative who helped us check in and showed us around the apartment. The owner is very pleasant to work with and very accommodating. The property is part of the Sunscape Resort, with a full schedule of activities, if you wish to take part. We participated in some activities, but we spent most of our time enjoying the beach and the view under a palapa. We did not opt for the all-inclusive (available any day you want it for additional $50 per person). On the first day we walked to Soriana (grocery store) and stocked up. Since we were loaded we took a cab back to the resort (50 pesos, less than $3). This took care of our breakfasts, lunches and refreshments. We went out to dinner at a different restaurant every night. Ruby recommended some good ones, and some we found on our own. One day we took a bus from the property to the Malecon. It was fun. We took cabs the other times, mostly around $5 for the four of us to everywhere we went. The four of us on the bus was less than $2 total. Everyone enjoyed the trip and is looking forward to returning in the near future."

  • Great Location!

"This is a beautiful condo located on the south end of town, close to all of the restaurants, and beaches. You can walk or take a short cab ride for 50 pesos to most everything in the area. Condo has everything you could possible need, great kitchen, and has washer & dryer as well. Beautiful Mexican art work throughout, and a great view of the bay...there's also a decent guitar, which as a guitarist myself, I really enjoyed, needs new strings though..."

  • Absolutely Perfect!

"Our stay here exceeded our expectations. The place is actually bigger that what the pictures make it seem and the views are killer. Alejandro was waiting for us to arrive with all in information we needed to know about the place and gave us great recommendations for dinner and the night life. The location was very close to Malecon (5 min taxi) where we spent every night of our stay enjoying the nightlife. And to top it all off the pool was perfect for the humid weather in PV. I would highly recommend this property to all my friends and family. Thanks again for the hospitality!!"
