  • Relaxing vacation

"Myself, my husband & another couple stayed for a week. We appreciated the suites so both couples could enjoy ample space and some privacy. When we arrived, the kitchen faucet was broke. Tavo was working on it; it was repaired by Sunday. Other than that, the property was great and in proper working order. Tavo and Claudia checked in on us almost daily. They were very nice and welcoming. We appreciated the beach towels, beach chairs and umbrella provided. We would typically sit on the beach until 2 and then hit the pool. The beach is very nice and swimmable. We felt safe at the property and in Puerto Vallarta. We spent most of our time in the Romantic Zone and took taxis. We made friends with a couple of taxi drivers. They gave us their cards and we were able to call them directly when we needed a ride. Claudia cooked for us one night. She prepared shrimp fajitas, rice, salsa, beans and flan. It was all very delicious!! We planned it on a night we had a daytime excursion; it was nice to come home and have dinner ready. The only excursion we took was to Boca de Tomatlan to catch a water taxi. Tavo set it up for us. The water taxi took us to a place to hike (or you can rent a horse) to a waterfall. There is a restaurant at the waterfall. After touring the coastline and seeing fish and lots of jellyfish, we visited another beach and ate. Beware of raicilla, a moonshine-like alcohol. It tastes good and can sneak up on you! We ate dinner at La Palapa, Vista Grill (make a reservation for a table at sunset; I thought it was the best food), Mariscos Cuetos Seafood (ate here twice because it was so good), Hacienda San Angel (the food was good, but pricey; make a reservation; great view), and La Piazzetta. Our favorite breakfast spot was Cafe de Olla. We ate at The Pancake House; it was good. We visited Andales a couple of nights for drinks after dinner and that was a lot of fun. It seems like an American bar in Mexico. Tavo and the taxi drivers were helpful in picking a place to eat and the property owner (Mary) emailed me a list of places ahead of time. Mary was very helpful and responsive to my questions prior to the trip. She also called to check on us after we arrived. I highly recommend this property. Although it is a bit out of town, which we liked, it is very peaceful and relaxing. It is easy to catch a taxi to go into town if you want more action. Thank you Mary, Tavo & Claudia for helping us have a wonderful vacation!"

  • Fantastic accommodation and lovely destination

"I would like to say our stay was amazing. The experience started when we first contacted Jonathan. He always replied to any question we had and when we arrived, he was there to meet us and took us through his wonderful home. The area is surrounded by luxury condos and a couple homes. The house has 6 bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms. We used a couple of times the upstairs dinning table because of the air conditioning however we spent most of the time in the lower level. Outside we had a blast at the wonderful pool area with seating and loungers. We did lots of day trips around the area which was wonderful. Jonathan helped us get discounts in zip line and arranged a snorkeling tour for us. The sandy beach just steps from the pool was in my check list before I knew this place. We´ve been to Puerto Vallarta many times and we know that it’s a very safe city. We felt secure at the villa with 3 gates and a wooden door in the street level. At the beach, there´s a wooden gate with padlock and a 9’5’’ stone wall that prevents anyone from entering directly from the beach. We used the alarm system just for safety. My feedback would be to improve the Wi-Fi. We usually had to go to the upper level to get a good connection. I understand that the location (jungle and beach) combined with a big concrete and marble home, makes it difficult to have good services but it would be a major upgrade. Thanks and see next year!"

  • SPECTACUALR! Hidden gem!

"We booked #4705 last minute for six nights in April. The condo was perfect for the three of us. The location & views are SPECTACULAR. The ocean is right below the deck of the condo and affords bird & fish watching and some of the most amazing sunsets I've ever seen. Condo has everything you need including a full selection of spices. The entire La Jolla de Mismaloya complex is very organized, clean, safe & welcoming. We played tennnis every morning on the ocean side court and ventured to the beach for lunch and massages. The pool (and its location) remind me of the French Rivera and the owners & guests were all fun to chat with. Only two minor complaints: the unit sleeps four, but two of the beds are sofas in the living room (not a sofa bed). Sleeping on the sofa was not ideal for an adult, but would be fine for a child. Also, the street noise behind the bedroom is quite loud. I built a pillow wall against the windows every night which solved the problem. Bring ear plugs if your sensitive to noise while sleeping. There are several GREAT restaurants in Mismaloya within five min (super easy & cheap) taxi right. The front desk staff is always available to help with arranging taxis very quickly. Restaurants - Tony's Hideaway, El Jacalito and Le Kliff. Be sure and grab groceries in PV as there are limited supplies in Mismaloya. There is also no longer an ATM is Mismaloya so be sure and have cash on hand or stop in PV. Speaking of PV - again, super easy taxi ride (10-15 minutes) along the coast. Loved the unit, complex and beautiful Mismaloya. Look forward to returning to this hidden gem soon. PS - Amy is super efficient and easy to communicate with and provided a great booklet with very thorough information about the condo and all of PV."

  • Peaceful oasis in the heart of it all

"We celebrated my 50th in the home , 4 couples and we all absolutely loved the house . Maraville and Naz where amazing !!! . I enjoyed my early mornings with coffee and listing to the sounds of nature . The complex is beautifully maintained the house is tastefully done and has a sublime location . You feel as though your in the jungle all the time being just a 10 minute walk from the heart of the Romantic zone and all it has to offer . I cannot say enough good things about this home as a designer in California I spend my time turning houses into homes . Casa mamasita has the feel of a much loved home tastefully decorated for both its location and setting and I will be back to enjoy its magic ."
