  • Wonderful condo, amazing location!

"Recently stayed at Bruce & Monika's gorgeous condo, and we had an amazing time! The property (both the condo and the complex itself) was wonderful. It was so lovely to have a variety of pools, be right on the beach and have access to the Girasol Sur restaurant next door (simple but great food, very affordable and a wonderful staff). We could have stayed on the property for our whole vacation and had a great time. Though the condo is a bit south of Puerto Vallarta, it was so easy (and affordable) to get a cab at any time. The staff on site were helpful, and we felt very safe here. The condo itself is beautiful and very comfortable, with lots of upgrades and amenities. The owners were very easy to contact and were very helpful, when we had questions or needed something. The only minor thing I can think of is that the sink in the half-bathroom (in the small bedroom) didn't get very hot. Everything else was perfect! I was so impressed that I almost don't want to leave a review because I want the property to stay my little secret. Can't wait to come back!"

  • Perfect Spot for our Destination Wedding

"My husband and I chose to celebrate our wedding with a five day trip to Casa La Villita with our friends and family - we could not have asked for a better venue or experience. We had a total of 20 friends occupying the villa, with family members staying at a nearby hotel. Fili, Victor, and the rest of the villa staff were helpful and friendly - they accommodated all of the unique needs that came with hosting our wedding at the villa, and the food and drinks they prepared were awesome (some of the best food we have ever eaten). Our group is already talking about a reunion trip next year - we would all love to come back."

  • New Favorite!

"If you are up for a little adventure arriving and departing from Los Chonchos, then this is an amazing place to stay. On days when the water is too rough for the water taxi to make a beach landing, you will have to go to the little village of Chimo, about a 40 min. hike away, or you can hire a mule to carry your things if it is too much to hike with. Met lots of nice folks at Los Chonchos, and La Palapa Tranquila is a beautiful space, with amazing views and everything you need! We enjoyed the hike to Chimo (tiny fishing village), and relaxing on the spacious deck of the palapa was always the perfect end to the day! We only had one meal at the "restaurant" but it was wonderful! (Plan ahead if you want to eat there, they need at least a day's notice to be ready for you). Next time, we hope the water is calm enough to take the sea kayak out. The beaches are beautiful and never crowded - there are only about 24 palapas total at Los Chonchos, so never too many folks around. If you want a relaxing, peaceful getaway where you can truly practice the art of doing nothing (but with plenty to do if you choose), this is the perfect spot! Chuck and Yvonne were always very responsive and gave fast replies to any inquiries."

  • Beautiful Unit with Stunning Views

"We stayed in this unit for the first time from mid February to mid March 2016. We were looking for something with a Mexican feel that would be close to the fun of Old Town but far enough away to be quiet and relaxing. This unit delivered on all accounts. It is comfortably furnished with lovely Mexican touches in decor. The location was a 10 minute walk down to the Malecon and beach and an inexpensive 50.00 peso taxi ride back up. The walk back up is challenging and was done every day by our adult children who loved the exercise and challenge. I was experiencing knee issues and found the walk down no problem and even succeeded with the climb up a few times. There is nothing like a rewarding dip in the pool after the climb up. It was a great way to keep active. The views are stunning and we couldn't believe our fortune every morning when opening our eyes to see the vista provided. We spent all our waking time in the unit on the terrace which is spacious and comfortably furnished. We prepared many meals in the well stocked kitchen and truly appreciated the supply of dry goods and spices left in the unit. It helped to reduce food costs not to have to completely set up those types of supplies for cooking. The only draw back with the building and unit is the lack of sun. Upon arrival in mid-Feb the pool was completely shaded and as the time progressed, by the middle of March, the pool was in more sun. The best time of day was mornings for sunbathing at the pool. The terrace at the unit was always shaded. This may be an issue for sun worshippers, however we preferred a shade terrace as it was more comfortable in the heat of the day. We found the pool temperature to be quite warm and was very comfortable to be in without the direct sun. Overall the limited sunlight was not a negative for us but might be a disappointment for some. We enjoyed the various birds and parrots which live and play in the green space across from the unit. The managers and owner were always available by phone and email and very responsive. Overall we found it to be a great location in PV and really enjoyed the spaciousness of the unit itself. We did not hesitate to book our return for 2017."
