  • Beautiful Unit with Stunning Views

"We stayed in this unit for the first time from mid February to mid March 2016. We were looking for something with a Mexican feel that would be close to the fun of Old Town but far enough away to be quiet and relaxing. This unit delivered on all accounts. It is comfortably furnished with lovely Mexican touches in decor. The location was a 10 minute walk down to the Malecon and beach and an inexpensive 50.00 peso taxi ride back up. The walk back up is challenging and was done every day by our adult children who loved the exercise and challenge. I was experiencing knee issues and found the walk down no problem and even succeeded with the climb up a few times. There is nothing like a rewarding dip in the pool after the climb up. It was a great way to keep active. The views are stunning and we couldn't believe our fortune every morning when opening our eyes to see the vista provided. We spent all our waking time in the unit on the terrace which is spacious and comfortably furnished. We prepared many meals in the well stocked kitchen and truly appreciated the supply of dry goods and spices left in the unit. It helped to reduce food costs not to have to completely set up those types of supplies for cooking. The only draw back with the building and unit is the lack of sun. Upon arrival in mid-Feb the pool was completely shaded and as the time progressed, by the middle of March, the pool was in more sun. The best time of day was mornings for sunbathing at the pool. The terrace at the unit was always shaded. This may be an issue for sun worshippers, however we preferred a shade terrace as it was more comfortable in the heat of the day. We found the pool temperature to be quite warm and was very comfortable to be in without the direct sun. Overall the limited sunlight was not a negative for us but might be a disappointment for some. We enjoyed the various birds and parrots which live and play in the green space across from the unit. The managers and owner were always available by phone and email and very responsive. Overall we found it to be a great location in PV and really enjoyed the spaciousness of the unit itself. We did not hesitate to book our return for 2017."

  • Great views and true Mexican architecture, but........

"We just returned from our stay at Villa Dos Angeles. Our family has been to PV many times but this was our first experience staying in a non-resort setting. While we had a GREAT vacation, there are a couple of things you should know prior to choosing this home. 1). The villa is located on the top of a hill. If you don't walk well, have knee problems, etc., don't choose this villa. If you walk in and out, there are a ton of stairs and cobblestone hills to go up. It is easier to climb up the steps from the bottom instead of going all of the way to the top and then down. 2). This Villa is not sealed up. If you don't like bugs, don't rent it. There are no-see-ums (vicious, biting almost invisible) all over the villa and the four of us were eaten up in our sleep. While we have encountered these before, mainly on the beach, we were not accustomed to having to wear bug repellent to bed at night! After waking up covered in red, itchy welts, we noticed that these bugs are everywhere. On the walls, the floors, the furniture, you name it. If you have small children, be aware that these bites are horrible and take weeks to go away. 3). There is a huge binder in the Villa that gives restaurant tips, etc. Some of it doesn't look to have been updated for quite sometime. One of the things that was sort of a bummer was that we were told that the beach at Garza Blanca had a poolside restaurant/bar that you could access while enjoying the beach. We grabbed towels, boogie boards and our wallet, only to find that the poolside restaurant is not available to anyone not staying at the resort. You can't even get a bottle of water! We did go back to the beach, however, hauling a cooler and everything else made it quite the production. Better to take a cab to town and enjoy one of the "beach clubs" at a local restaurant. We really enjoyed the freedom that staying in the Villa provided. We truly enjoyed trying many of the local restaurants and the ability to cook for ourselves as well."

  • Our family's new go-to vacation spot!

"Upon arrival the Girasol Sur staff was friendly and helpful, throughout our trip they help us find anything we needed. The condo was stocked with new clean towels and sheets, with lots of extras. Everything was neat and tidy upon arrival. Loved the extra feature of the chilled water dispenser in the room. Had dinner at the amazing restaurant almost every night, wonderful food! Once again the staff was friendly and helpful, making us feel right at home. Definitely going to come back again and again."

  • Perfect Villa in Sunny Mexico!

"A friend group of 5 moms and their 5 high school senior daughters spend 5 nights at this amazing home in January 2016. Everything was perfecto - from the impeccably furnished three-story house, to the delicious and freshly prepared meals, to the made-to-order drinks all day/night long, to the beautiful landscaping and beach, and most of all - to the outstanding staff that made our stay wonderful. We will definitely return, and our daughters are planning many reunions at Playasola."
