  • Fantastic Unit

"Our family, 2 children and the in-laws stayed in this unit over the holidays. The views are amazing and Chris (the owner) is fabulous to deal with. We all enjoyed the personal touches and we will be back."

  • Outstanding resort and unit---Made our first visit to Nuevo Vallarta one to remember!

"This was our first visit to the Puerto Vallarta area. Based on VRBO reviews we booked at Villa la Estancia because we wanted to be in the Nuevo Vallarta area. -- The Nuevo Vallarta/Bucerias area This northern part of the Banderas Bay is less crowded and populated than PV. We made an afternoon trip by taxi to PV and couldn't' wait to get back to our relaxing resort. PV seemed like a large city with heavy traffic, cruise ships, tons of hawkers on the beach. I guess if you like density, you'll like PV. Flamingos beach and Bucerias, on the other hand, was a breath of fresh air -- literally! One can walk 4 or 5 miles on the beach and feel at peace. While there are a few vendors around, it was never an annoyance. The spacing between the resorts on Flamingos beach is enough that you'll never feel crowded. The authentic town of Bucerias, which is only a short, pleasant walk from Villas La Estancia was a highlight. What a magical place! Restaurants, coffee shops, beach-front cafes, fish taco and churro stands -- all great quality at amazingly reasonable prices (especially with the strong dollar). Everyone so friendly! Other reviewers have commented the path to Bucerias from the resort is not safe. We felt it was perfectly safe and walked it in the morning for exercise and to get great pastries at Paninos, and then in the evening to and from dinner at either Karens, Marks, Sandrinas......too many to name. The path is only .4 miles to the Decameron resort in Bucerios (i.e. only .4 miles where you are on a dirt path), and then into middle of town is a pleasant .5 miles on the cobble-stone street. In the northern part of Banderas Bay is La Cruz, where we attended the most fun Sunday market --- great music, food, arts, crafts. La Cruz is also where we boarded for the Chica Loca Tours (chicalocatours.com) boat to Marietta islands -- another highlight!! --The Villas La Estancia What else can I add that hasn't been said? This is a true luxury resort. The quality, the grounds, the service....the food, whether at the restaurant or poolside was very good. Having Flamingo Palmar next door was a plus -- but I'm glad we were at the much more elegant Estancia. --The Unit What we appreciated was the smack-on view from 5th floor and the fact the owner added a door between the guest suite and living room--Very convenient even for adults! George, the owner, was so helpful in handling the VRBO transaction and providing travel tips!"

  • EXCELLENT STAY IN 1403: 4 Hot Tubs Along the Ocean

"We stayed in VLE for a week in both sides of 1403…..4.5 stars!!! We had a wonderful time and thank Bill for his quick responses. The people and staff were ALL very friendly. We were greeted with champagne and cold water. They also had coffee, tea, and cookies around 5ish in the lobby. As others have said, the best part of the unit was the balcony overlooking the ocean. It was fabulous. We went to Mega the first day and it was so inexpensive. When we were there the Peso to Dollar rate was 21.5/1. It makes me want to do a Bill and buy a place in Mexico. I did not eat at VLE. My wife had lunch by the pool. We went to places all around the region to get a feel for the people and places. I recommend getting housekeeping lined up at the start of your stay. We arrived on Tuesday Jan 10 and our place was cleaned on Thursday 12 and Monday 16 (We left Tuesday morning the 17). As a result, we ran out of towels. When we called for more, they were going to charge us. So we just washed the towels in the washer and dryer. No big deal. I would just line up Thursday and Saturday or Sunday. This was partially our fault as they did come on Saturday and my wife said to come back on Sunday and they agreed. They never came back on Sunday even after we called them. Also, the sliding door in the smaller unit did not work. We had to call the maintenance people to fix this. As a result, the air conditioning did not work for the first evening in that unit. One other small thing, that I did not state to the maintenance people, the hot water in the main bathroom on the left hand sink would go on and then switch to a very weak speed within 20 seconds or so. So when I shaved I had to move to the right sink. Despite these things, we would rent this unit out again. Thanks, Bill."
