  • Excellent Customer Service

"OK, full disclosure up front! We visited Villa La Estancia in March 2016 but Melba and Tom's unit was not available so Melba arranged a very similar unit for us on the fifth floor. A bit of background on unit numbers at this resort. Rooms all have a four digit number, then an A or a B. The first digit represents the building number (1,2,3), the second the floor number and the last two the actual unit number. In general, for buildings 1 and 3 which are the ones that run perpendicular to the ocean along the sides of the resort, the lower the unit number, the closer to the ocean. There are a few maps on Google images that show the layout and this is important. Building 1 gets the afternoon and evening sun and view of the sunset. Building 3 gets the morning sun. Units closer to the beach are generally better, particularly for view and sun. So the ideal units are generally 1-5 in buildings 1 and 3 and maybe the units on the higher floors in building 2. Most units (except penthouses) are either 2+1 or 1+1. A 2+1 has two bedrooms in the main unit, then another bedroom immediately beside it. There is a gate common to both the A and B units but it is not secure enough to leave the doors between them open if you are not around. Both the A and B units have a hotel style card lock door that you need to keep closed at night for security. If you have kids and want them in a separate bedroom, getting one of the 'real' 2 bedroom units is important. The 1+1 would likely not make most parents comfortable! If your kids are older, then no problem. You also share the balcony so can go between rooms that way. Our unit was a 2+1 and we had our two older kids (18,23) so we used all three bedrooms. The units are well appointed. We opted not to go for the all inclusive meal plan as it was fairly expensive. There are so many restaurants to visit in the area that it would be a shame to spend all of your time just at the resort. We went to the Mega store (15 minute walk, cheap taxi back) for groceries on day 1 to stock up and did most breakfasts in our unit, then either ate lunch at the resort, at Flamingos next door (part of the same chain so you have full access) or in Bucerias (15-20 min walk or $8US cab). There are four bathrooms and four showers in a 2+1 so plenty of space. Beds are comfortable, water is safe. Out of space so look for our review in Trip Advisor under Oakvillites"

  • Everything just perfect...

"This condo on the 8th floor of Playa Royale was perfect in every way -- beautiful views, marvelous balcony and clean, cozy, studio with ample space and king bed. Also, we loved having a kitchen for breakfasts, snacks, drinks and leftovers from the many restaurants within walking distance. Shopping center with grocery also within walking distance and the Tuesday farmer's market is right across the street. The balcony was perfect and private for anytime of day for reading, napping, and catching up on projects. Walking the beach, or taking the bike path in the center of the tree-lined boulevard was great for exploring and going out shopping or eating. The Beach Club at the condo was a great place for happy hour and sunsets & has a small restaurant. Everyone on staff at the Playa Royale was super friendly and went out of their way to help. Everything was clean, well maintained, and the grounds & pool areas are lovely. Puerto Vallarta with the malecón, old old town, restaurants, shops, and entertainment is only a bus ride away! And, finally, Norma our host, was most helpful from the initial planning & questions to the details on the area and the condo as we put our trip together. Thanks, C & K"

  • Excellent location, excellent condo

"We rented this condo for 9 days during spring break. Six of us in total and there was plenty of room for everyone, each bedroom has its own private bathroom. The unit is very clean and well equipped for cooking meals. The balcony has an incredible ocean view and it was amazing waking up to the waves crashing on the beach. There are plenty of very reasonably priced restaurants and services nearby and the guys at the snack bar at the pool make amazing food and drinks which you can pay cash for. Will definitely rent this unit again."

  • Paradise Found!

"We spent Christmas and New Year's in this beautiful condo and I can't say enough about it! It was truly paradise. Every morning we awoke in the king size bed, opened the slider so we could hear the waves crashing, made espresso in the well-equipped kitchen and relaxed on the lanai taking in all of the surrounding beauty. It was an amazing vacation, one that I hope we can take year after year. The owner was extremely helpful via email and he put us in touch with a local woman who was able to pick us up at the airport and whisk us away to this beautiful locale. She even secured the excursions we were interested in prior to our arrival. We walked over to the poolside dining area just a hundred yards down the beach for several lunches and even hit up their 2 for 1 Happy Hour on occasion. The staff at the condos were very accommodating and friendly. Almost every night we walked to a local restaurant for dinner - loved Ciao and Riviera! The shuttle picks up every 30 minutes for the golf course, shopping center and spa. We walked to purchase groceries, starbucks and other misc. needs. Truly a gorgeous vacation!"
