  • It is better to have and not want than to want and not have.

"The Reservationist contacted me before my arrival to assure me my taxi would be waiting. The driver offered me beverages and made sure the air conditioning in the taxi was suitable for me. Arriving to the Hotel I was shown to my room and the Receptionist stayed to make sure everything was suitable to my needs. The accommodations were spacious. The furnishings included several beds, a divan, couches, chairs, dining table and bed stands. Fresh drinking water, a T.V. in each room, a working air conditioner in each room with ceiling fans and free wi-fi. Hot water in the shower and in addition: pool towels, bathing towels, kitchen with cooking pans and plates, toiletries and an in room safe box. The rooms were bright and sunny, dark curtains were available to darken the bed room if needed. The refrigerator was clean and roomy with a huge bag of ice in case I needed iced water. The electric stove and gas range were beautiful. And I used them often as I was on a budget, but I found the local eateries to be very affordable and delicious. The hotel was located right on the beach and recreation amenities included two pools one of which was on the roof!, surfing boards, Stand Up boards, boat tours, fishing and much more. The breakfast kiosk on the roof served up fresh fruit smoothies, homemade buttermilk waffles, omlets, fresh coffee from a coffee press which they brought to your table. Or I could have espresso drinks or cappuccino. I loved sitting on the deck chair or lounging on the beach in the evening and watching the locals come to the beach with their children. I loved seeing and hearing these children laughing and playing in the sea. Local snorkel fisherman dove for lobster and octopus or clams and urchins. The town is quiet and laid back the locals are helpful and respectful. Horacio, Rodrigo, Daniel and Marcos (Boat owner?), Miguel, Maritza, Gilberto and Antonio. To the staff, thank you!"

  • Really wishing we were still there...

"Lisa and David (and the dogs!) were very gracious and accommodating hosts, and our apartment - 2 bedrooms, open kitchen and living area - was perfect for our family of four. It was roomy and comfortable and stayed cool in the heat of the day. We had the perfect base for our vacation, the kids could come and go to the beach as they wanted, or just hang out on the patio. We loved the location, off to one side of the town, a very short distance from the beach, and walkable to the town center or the many small local restaurants, where the food was wonderful (and wonderfully inexpensive). We would not have enjoyed staying at one of the resorts - they looked amazing but they also looked like walled off enclaves, and we wanted to be more immersed/exposed to Mexico instead of feeling like we were in California. The town is very simple, without a lot of the tourist vibe in other areas around PV, and everyone we met was very friendly and helpful (and tolerant of our bad Spanish). The surfing was just amazing - and David was the best guide, taking me to places I would have never found otherwise, I already miss the walks in to the secluded breaks, the very forgiving waves, and the friendly vibe on the water, but six days of two sessions/day have left this desk jockey a little wrecked! We visited in mid April, it happened to be Easter week, which is a big deal in Mexico. The beach was crowded during that week, but the following week it completely cleared out. Even when the beach was crowded everyone was so laid back that it didn't matter - and 'crowded' is a relative term, I've seen much worse. This was a much needed escape from a particularly dreary winter, and it went by too fast. Thanks Lisa and David for such a wonderful stay, and please give our best to the dogs, we miss their visits and escorts to the beach :)"

  • Exceeded our Expectations!

"We rented this villa for family members birthdays. We brought our 3 adult children and their significant others. The villa was better than we could have imagined and photos don't do it justice. We had other friends and family staying at the Four Seasons a few minutes away and they were jealous! Our concierge, Claudia, arranged everything we needed from having the kitchen stocked upon our arrival, to dinner reservations, having a golf cart delivered (our mode of transportation for our stay), to a chef coming in for a catered dinner for 15. The pool, views, living space, and all amenities were fabulous. The owner was kind enough to answer my many questions before our arrival. Highly recommended and we will be back!"
