  • Awesome sunsets!

"Great vacation!!! We felt like everything went amazing!! :) Couldn't have been better. The housekeeper and house manager were super friendly and attentive. We loved the town and surf board rentals were super easy at Santa Madre... Golf cart rental was prrrrrfect... food was amazing! The house was clean and cozy and the pool was the best part. Killer sunsets too! :)"

  • Family retreat

"Our family of 6 (kids 6, 7, 11, 13) really had a wonderful stay here. Wendy was very responsive and helpful prior to and during our stay. The house had everything we needed, was a super quick walk to the beach, and merely a 5 minute drive from the main strip of San Pancho. There's currently a bit of construction on a new house next door, but the workers didn't start before 7:30am and things were quiet again by 2-3pm. Weekends were generally silent. The house is tucked away in a quiet and safe neighborhood and we had no problems exploring the area. Our favorite restaurants were Barracuda (lunch Thursday - Sunday was very reasonable, amazing seafood salad and ceviche!), Maria's (personable service, really nice atmosphere, good drinks), and Victor's Taco's (cash only, but our entire family of 6 stuffed ourselves for only $18 US, and Victor is a gem!). There's a good grocery (cash only, their ATM charges a higher rate) just around the corner from Victor's and Maria's that has lots of basics, fresh fruit and veggies, good prices. As for the beach close to Casa Sonrisa, the surf was intimidating at first, but then we realized at boogie boarding on the North end (close to the rocks, watch the Mexican surfers) was really really fun! If you're looking for a more younger kid friendly beach, head South toward town or try Punta Negra close to Punta Mita (easy waves) or the South end of the Lo De Marcos beach. I would not pay for fishing or whale watching at Punta de Mita, instead just go to the Lo De Marcos beach and there are guys with boats there--much more reasonable ($200 pesos ($10 US) per person hourly). All in all, we had an awesome time at Casa Sonrisa and would definitely do it again! Thanks Wendy!"

  • Perfect family vacation

"We just spent a week at Villa de Roja and it was perfect for our family. There were 12 of us , ages 2 to 76, and we were made to feel at home from our arrival to our departure. We had our many breakfast and dinners cooked for us and it was always delicious and plentiful. Golf carts got us in to town for shopping, meals, or a drink. The little town is very cute and the people are friendly. Most of our time was spent around the pool and hot tub, which the younger kids felt was their private pool. Our last night we had a bonfire on the beach and roasted marshmellows. We went home with many happy memories of a beautiful home and lovely staff who made our vacation very special."

  • Beautiful house and wonderful host!

"My husband, two year old son and I have stayed at many homes in Sayulita, Punta Mita and San Pancho, but this house is something special. It has the most amazing views and is so comfortable. If you really want to experience to Mexico, in a wonderful place, this is it. Make sure to rent a golf cart, it makes everything easy and is a fun way to travel to town. San Pancho is a bohemian surf town about ten minutes by car to Sayulita. It is not the best swimming beach but the beach is so amazing, especially at sunset. This is our second time staying at Patricia's paradise home. She is such a genuinely nice person, a pleasure to meet. She even took my husband back and forth to the hospital and stayed win him to translate when he fell ill. I have stayed at more than twenty vacation rentals in the last two or three years, and this one is a true gem!"
