  • Excellent value and great situation for families

"Though away from the historic center of town that attracts most tourists to San Cristobol, access is still quick and easy --a short cab ride to this quiet, safe, suburb away from the hubbub and activity of the center. The accommodations are roomy, attractive and nice; with two comfy rooms, one on each floor and a full kitchen, living room/dining area with a nice fireplace, and a walled courtyard with soft grassy space out front for kids to run and play in. Cable television and working wi-fi, working hot water showers (2 bathrooms!), and space for everyone to retreat to play/rest in after a full day of extreme togetherness... All travel necessities are nearby --supermarket, laundry. The hostess is warm, friendly and took excellent care of us; we found both english speaking and non english speaking members of her family to be helpful, charming and eager to help. We found that having a quiet place to return to after a long day touring really helped out kids to refuel and recharge, and the hostess really did have excellent advice in helping to book transport and arrange logistics."

  • Ranks as one the most comfortable and attractive vacation rentals we have stayed at!

"Casa Azul was such a lovely place to stay for our month in San Cristóbal. The decor, the comfortable indoor and outdoor furniture, the well equipped kitchen, the lovely oasis of a garden (great for yoga!), the cosy fires in the wood stove, the proximity to both the local markets and the downtown, and the prompt attention from Helga to any questions or concerns, all made for an easy and stress-free vacation. (We recommend the nearby El Punto Italian Restaurant on Calle Comitan beside the Iglesia del Cerillo for its pizzas, delicious salads, and ambience - it was our go-to place for dinner - or take-out - after a day of sightseeing!)"

  • Lovely stay

"We stayed at Sherry's casa for 3 weeks and had the most wonderful time. I have stayed at a lot of vacation rentals and Sherry's is the most well appointed by far. If you want to stay in for the night, wifi is good, there's access to Netflix and lots of DVDs and there's lots of cookware in the kitchen. If you want to go out, the casa is in a great location in town. There's no washer/dryer, but the lavanderia around the corner will wash, dry and fold for 10 pesos per kilo so I didn't miss doing laundry! And the water filter in the kitchen is such a bonus in Mexico. All of the people that we interacted with were lovely. Gonzolo the taxi driver picked us up on time in Tuxtla and drove us to San Cris in his comfortable sedan. Teresa greeted us at the casa and explained everything in detail. She stayed in touch through WhatsApp to ensure all of our questions about the casa and getting around San Cris were answered. Clara the housekeeper and both gardeners are so sweet. Sherry herself was available for any questions and very attentive. I have nothing but good things to say about our stay, and if we ever return to San Cris, I will certainly stay at Sherry's casa again!"
