  • Value for money!

"Casa Langan var the perfect location for our familygroup of 9 persons. Better then the pictures!! Great location, but you do need a car. Right on the beach, steps away. Nice snorkeling, but for turtles you need to walk to Akumal bay. Very quiet, nice pool, fantastic staff with the most gorgeous boy in the world. Superb cleaning every day, very well equipped. Super wifi! No tv -and absolutely no need for it. Very safe and nice area, close to cenotes, Tulum and everything als. Would go back in a heartbeat!! Thanks to the Langans :)"

  • The perfect getaway

"I booked our stay based soley on the previous reviews; everyone had such great things to say about their own visits that I was confident we (my boyfriend and I) would have a great time as well. Great is an understatement...we have been home 3 days now and I'm already thinking about when we can make a return visit. I had expectations of a relaxing beach side vacation, but was not prepared for how friendly everyone was--staff, locals, and fellow travelers alike, and the food! We ate at a different place each night and were never disappointed, Turtle Bay Cafe and Lol-Haa, I think are my favorite though. The room was beautiful and the beds are super comfortable, and Agostin, the property manager was very helpful with all of our questions."

  • Would visit again!

"In the past few times our family went to Akumal, we stayed at Las Casitas but couldn't book a unit this time. We picked Casa Solymar based on the reviews - it looked classy and had three bedrooms and was walking distance to the main beach. The villa was a little set back from the road and had a lush garden. It was spacious with a great view, and everything was clean. The kitchen was well stocked and even had some oil and spices. The pool was a lot bigger than we thought, a great size for our family. We swam in it a few times a day. It was clean and not over-chlorinated. The villa provided an electric cart which was helpful when we made several trips to the grocery store or decided to go to Yal-ku which was a long walk away. We didn't think it was such a plus point when making our reservation, but it was really a nice convenience. The bedrooms upstairs were a little warm in late March. My bedroom had a faulty AC unit and never cooled down. When I contacted the manager, Monica Estrada, she sent someone to look at it right away, and the AC was replaced that very day. Monica was very helpful. Due to passport issues, I had to arrive two days later than my family and she arranged additional airport transfer. Every time I emailed her, I received a reply right away. Please be aware that the wifi connection doesn't reach the upstairs bedrooms. The beach is very rocky so you can't go swimming there. The view, though, is spectacular. On very windy days, the salt spray can get 100 ft right up to the windows. When we stayed at Las Casitas in the past, we used to tip the housekeeper every day whatever we liked. Here at Casa Solymar, the guest book said to tip the housekeeper and gardener 15% of the cost of the rental. We also felt that being asked to tip the gardener is quite unusual. Shouldn't the maintenance of the pool and garden be factored into the cost of the rental? The villa management should have asked for the rental + 15% upfront instead. The tipping request and amount felt like a hidden fee. Tipping should be optional. We did tip the staff because we wanted to, but didn't tip the 15% and felt guilty that they might not have been paid their fair share. But paying them is the responsibility of the management, not the guests. All said and done, Casa Solymar is a solid five stars and I would go back for a visit. Thank you, Monica, for making our stay a lovely one."

  • Loved La Iguana 14.......

"Our vacation was wonderful it was not our first time to the Akumal area we have been there many times, we have been to all inclusives we have rented other Villas, this condo/villa was beautifu,l everything we expected. Very spacious, nicely decorated . The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed to cook several meals. The first day of our arrival we stopped at the grocery before we came to the house. We had several days of groceries and realized after a few hours that the refrigerator was not working, we contacted management as soon as we could, they assured us it would take time to get cold, so we waited, knowing that wasn't going to happen. We made several runs to the local stores for bags of ice throughout the day and evening so our groceries wouldn't spoil, when we told management of the problem several more times they replaced with a temporary refrigerator until they replaced with a new unit. A little glitch, to our perfect week....Our housekeeper Andrea was a beautiful woman and so accommodating to us. We would definitely go back to LA Iguana 14, we loved the location and the seclusion of the north end of Half Moon Bay.."
