  • Pleasantly Surprised!

"First, let me start by saying that I was worried after reading some of the other reviews, but after staying in the unit I was pleasantly surprised. I agree that it's an older property that needs some work, especially around the pool area, but the beach was wonderful. I had family staying at the Royal Sands and their beach was full of seaweed and had a strong odor. There was no comparison. The beach at Solymar was clean and free of seaweed. There were very few people on the beach most times. The listing description is accurate, but I envisioned a slightly larger unit than what was depicted in the photographs. The unit was clean and well-maintained. Most of the staff that I encountered were kind and helpful. The Condo Manager, Miriam Botello, went above and beyond and ensured that we had all of the information that we needed. She responded to questions via text message very quickly, which I appreciated. I would definitely recommend this property if you’re looking for a quiet unit aware from the hustle and bustle of downtown Cancun. I recommend taking the bus wherever you need to go. It’s quite inexpensive and entertaining, but make sure you have exact change, if possible. My only recommendation is that you bring wash cloths with you, since the condo doesn't have any (nor will they be provided). The unit is also right above the bar (adjacent to the pool) and it got a little rowdy at times, but very tolerable and the noise didn't last beyond 11:00. ENJOY!"

  • Lenny and his Condo are Great, but...

"Lenny was a great host (he even let us borrow his olive oil so we didn't have to make another grocery store run). The condo is right on the beach. We were most impressed with the outside space and location, then the kitchen and living room, and then the bedrooms (I, of course, gave my parents the master bedroom -- it was fantastic). The other two bedrooms were small, but had comfortable beds and pillows. Besides, you're going to this location for the outside space, not the glamorous second and third bedrooms! But, have very low expectations about the entire condo complex. The tennis court was fine (not good, but playable), the pool was okay, but mysteriously didn't have many loungers (thankfully, Lenny has four with the condo, so we didn't have to join the mad dash in the morning to get the 10 that the condo association provides)."

  • Outstanding home. 6 people stayed and there was plenty of room.

"Airport taxi was a pain in the ass after 8 hours of traveling. Arrived and we're met by the lovely Miriam who is as nice and helpful as you would want. We really had a great time. My only surprise on the trip was the language barrier and the lack of English speaking people in the area. No biggie really. Got were we needed to go. Shopping in the supermarket was an experience."
