  • Beachfront condo overlooking pool

"This condo was clean and fully furnished. We have stayed at this complex for the past 3 years and found the owners easy to correspond with. We especially enjoyed having HBO (English speaking) and various channels available on the TV. Others in the complex said they didn't have this feature in their condo, it came in real handy for the guys on super bowl sunday! There was plenty of space to spread out and the roof top patio was a great spot to watch the cruise ships, dive boats and the beautiful sunsets. The US telephone line and strong internet service was an added bonus. Quiet complex with great snorkeling right in front of the complex."

  • Comfort and class in relative seclusion on your own beach

"If you're the kind of vacationer who prefers a choose-your-own-adventure style of travel while still enjoying a comfortable setting, this property may be what you're looking for. There are not too many better properties we could find in the area. I highly recommend it, but for one thing which I'll speak to: A beautiful house on the best beach in the area. If we saw 5 people on the beach all day we were surprised. Evenings on the balcony or patio were quiet and peaceful. A ton of little details and care were taken for the property, which really make the place feel like home for your time there. The on-site staff are there when you need something, but will leave you to yourself when you don't. Things to note: Because of the far-removed nature of this property, and location in an eco-reserve, conservation of resources is necessary. That mostly means watch how much water you use. No AC, but it is not needed with the sea-breeze blowing through. You'll need your own car, and I recommend an SUV for comfort. Groceries in town are your best bet for supplies (buy lots of bottled water), we chose to grab what we needed on the way in and again while out on tours. Beyond that, definitely check out the amazing dining options in the Tulum hotel zone or beyond. Location is a relatively safe area for travel, but common sense and awareness should prevail when on vacation ... especially so far out of the way. There are critters all around ... not to be alarming, just aware. Giant iguanas or monitors are the most obvious (and of course, mosquitoes and little pests), but we saw a tarantula the size of a large hand and a 7-8 foot snake crossing the road one night. I'm sure larger unseen critters lurk in the jungle at night. I don't consider any of the above as a negative, but you should go in with eyes open. Beautiful hooded orioles sang outside our windows every morning! The only negative ... and it is hard to call it a negative when we had such an amazing vacation property ... would be the beds. Still a 5 star rating, and my wife and I would definitely like to return. Just note the beds pictured above are doubles, and for 2 adults it is a little cramped for my tastes. My wife and I traveled alone and ended up sleeping in separate rooms after the first night. We're not big people! If we were to return I'd be more interested if the beds were upsized to queen, there should be space in the rooms. ... Small nitpicky thing in an otherwise fabulous getaway!"
