  • Gorgeous and cool all at the same time!

"We loved staying at Casa Maare and can't wait to come back! This house is so pretty, yet functional and comfortable. Heather provided everything we needed and was wonderful to work with! I almost hesitate writing a great review because I want to keep it as a secret for myself and friends, but it's an amazing place in an incredible location at a great price. We're already figuring out when we can come back!!"

  • The Big Chill Vacation 2016!

"This is the 4th time I've stayed at this property, & while every time is wonderful in every way, this time was just amazingly PERFECT! The house is always kept up so well on a daily basis by Amado & Inez (caretakers - you couldn't ask for friendlier people!). From taking a dip in the pool to snorkeling in the bay, there is nothing better than this property for the view, location, & amenities offered! I HIGHLY recommend staying here. I know we'll be back as soon as humanly possible :)"

  • Perfect for the kind of Mexico trip we wanted

"We had a really great trip, and our decision to stay at your place in Chemuyil made for a much more authentic Mexican experience than most families get. It also saved us money that we were able to spend on fun experiences in the area. It’s pretty hard to pull off and afford a good international vacation with 5 kids, but your house made it all work. The location on the park, across the street from the grocery store, and just down the way from Leo’s and La Palapa was great. It was fun seeing the Quinceneara festivities one evening, sitting on some guy's front patio watching him make delicious fresh breakfast empanadas for us, and just walking around town seeing how the locals live. And then, being so close to Xcacel Beach, Xel-ha, Tulum (you should add Pollo Bronco to your recommendations list!), Akumal, and Coba was perfect. The house itself was a great setup for us. Having so many rooms to spread out in was very nice, and the 3rd and 4th floor decks were a cool extra touch. As Ryan notes several times, this is not a pristine, sanitized resort kind of a trip. It's a lot closer to real Mexico, but still manageable for gringos with limited Spanish. Barking dogs, roosters, geckos in the house, some trash in the streets...but for just over $100 bucks a night, and so close to so much great stuff? I'd highly recommend it to a family looking for culture and adventure."

  • Amazing Tulum Vacation - Paradise

"Went here on a getaway with best friends, and couldn't have found a better place to stay for the week! It's a true paradise! The house was SO clean, and a wonderful Mexican style little castle right on the water. Tulum is still untouched by big resorts, and such a tropical dream. Loved the vibe everywhere we went. The details provided prior to arrival were plentiful and gave us all we needed! Having the pool, and lounge chairs only steps to our own private white sand beach...PERFECT! The bay was absolutely breathtaking - crystal clear and great for Kayaking. We would take the kayaks way out and snorkel and swim. All the bedrooms had AC and a wonderful view of the caribbean. I would open my doors from bed and listen to the waves in the morning. The rooftop overlooks the jungle and the water. Jungle has awesome sunsets from the roof, and the bay has an amazing sunrise. If the moon isn't too bright, get ready for awesome star gazing! The groundskeeper and chef - Isidro, and our housekeeper, Rocio were an amazing inclusion to the house! They were so friendly and shy, and did not bother us at all. To have our house cleaned every day, was a huge plus to add to the relaxation! One of our meals cooked by Isidro - the freshest lobster tail, and a chile relleno, were one of the best we had in MX! Steps away is a Cenote for snorkeling in an under water cave. There are a few boutique hotels and a restaurant/bar nearby if you felt like walking only steps in the sand to get out of the house. Two nights in a row turtles hatched on our beach and we got to see them run into the sea! We got lucky to see this! Aside from our area, it was only about a 12 minute drive to the beach front hotels and restaurants in Tulum. We rented a car, so this wasn't a problem. We took a cab out a few nights, and that wasn't a problem either. Tulum's beaches are breathtaking and more swimmable than the bay, making it worth a few days spent. Visiting the Tulum ruins, (about an 8 minute drive) and the Coba Mayan ruins (45 min drive)in the jungle (which you can still climb the tallest ruin in mexico) are all a must for little adventures. We also ventured to the village of Akumal one day which was not as private and wonderful as our little bay in Tankah, but a good new site to see, and it had some shopping. Overall, we could not be more pleased with the turnout of picking this house, and our amazing Tulum Vacation! I can't wait to return!! -4 best friends from Los Angeles, CA"
