  • Family Vacation

"My family stayed here (2 adults and 4 kids ages 9,6,4 and 2) and we had a great relaxing week. The house is exactly as described and really quite spacious. The rental rate is only slightly higher than the neighboring property with 13 units, but you get so much more at casa cielo (more space, private pool etc). A previous reviewer said the water pressure was low, but I didn't feel that it was inadequate at all. The onsite caretaker Lucio was readily available and very friendly. The house is on a property that is shared with another house. Casa Cielo is set back on the property, but from the pool and outdoor sitting area you can still see the ocean. As well it is protected from the ocean winds, which were gusting quite a bit when we were there. The beach was good for the kids. There is a rock wall which holds the sandy area from washing away, and there is an easy entry area for when you want to go in the water. There were small waves while we were there, while the rest of the area was experiencing red flag days. We snorkeled in a few areas but found the snorkeling to be the best right at casa cielo. There is a gentle slope in the underwater terrain, and minimal current. The house is just outside the town of san miguel which makes for quick drives into the city for dinner. There are a few restaurants within walking distance that serve standard mexican fare (tacos, quesadillas etc) and "american standards (burgers, fries etc). Although the owner recommended renting a vehicle, I would suggest that if you are a big family, you should avoid renting a van. In the end we payed double the Expedia rate in canadian for the week. That is the most I have ever paid for a rental. We would not have paid nearly that much in taxis. The island is set up for the cruise ships so a lot of places close at 5pm. In comparison to other places I have traveled in mexico (playa del carmen, akumal, puerto vallarta), I found cozumel to be on the more expensive side."

  • Perfection in Cozumel

"The owners have thought of everything, down to freezable mugs already chilling in the freezer. All the little things are taken care of and everything works. Well appointed kitchen and comfortable furniture, cotton robes, beach towels, a first aid kit, lots of hangers, and an umbrella hanging in the front hall. The condo and the Residencias Reef complex itself are very quiet at night. The balcony is lovely for coffee and contemplation in the morning. This condo is perfect for a couple needing a relaxing quiet week of vacation, yet it's only a short drive away from the restaurants and stores in Cozumel."

  • LOVE this private, relaxing oasis with everything you need!

"This was out first visit to Cozumel and the trip was a high school graduation gift for our daughter. She did not want to stay at a large resort and was sold on this condo when she saw the picture with the hammock on the porch. My ex-husband and I were traveling together for this occasion, so having plenty of space was important. It was the PERFECT spot for our family! The view from the living room and front bedroom was beautiful. It was so nice to have a semi-private beach just steps away, with an outdoor shower to rinse off the sand. We only used the pool a few times, but it was refreshing and a nice added benefit. The condo is stocked with everything that you could possibly need and having a kitchen and washer/dryer were conveniences that we appreciated as opposed to staying in a hotel room. Our trip was focused around scuba diving and we ended up diving three days (6 dives) through Blue Angel Resort. They were very friendly and professional and I'd highly recommend them. We never explored the recommendation of Herman, but would assume that he might have provided better rates. The diving was AMAZING and I could have easily spent every day in the depths of the beautiful water, but my kids (two daughters) wanted to spend time doing other things. We spent one day at Chankanaab swimming with the dolphins which was another highlight of our trip. It's very touristy which is usually not our thing, but the cost and dealing with the cruise ship tourists was worth the experience. On another day we took the ferry to Playa del Carmen and then a taxi to Akumal Bay to snorkel with the sea turtles. My youngest daughter is obsessed with turtles and even though we had seen some while scuba diving, this was a much more up close and personal experience. It's definitely worth a drive to the other side of the island. (Yes, you should rent a car.) We spent one day lounging on the beach and playing in the waves at Chen Rio. This was another favorite for us! Our last day we went to Punta Sur. Unfortunately, we only saw the head of one crocodile and found the water at the beach to be much too warm. We climbed to the top of the lighthouse and it is a beautiful view. We ate at many of the restaurants that were recommended and our favorite was Kondesa. We also had a great meal at her sister restaurant, Kinta. You can't go wrong if you follow the recommendations that are provided and you will LOVE staying at this condo. We can't wait to go back!"

  • Can't wait to come back

"I can't say much that hasn't already been said except to add that words cannot express what an awesome, amazing place Casa Carlita is for your stay in Cozumel. LOCATION - PERFECT. NEIGHBORHOOD - SAFE & QUIET. ACCOMMODATIONS - OMG! Really, I'm not kidding. Carla has thought or everything. The kitchen is fully equipped, TV, DVD, VHS, although we never used them. Individually controlled AC in each room. Enough bath towels, hand towels and beach towels for an army. Add to this a housekeeper that will come as often as you need her and Victor your property manager if you need any help or advice. We brought our best friends with us as they have never been to Cozumel and they were so impressed I'm sure we will be annual visitors to Casa Carlita."
