  • A week in Paradise

"Rating Details: I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. I was more than happy with the location. The vacation rental was spotless. The property manager was very helpful. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: After about 13 hours of travel time (Taxi/Airplane/Taxi/Ferry/Taxi) we finally got to our destination, a nice studio with all the facility to cook our own meals. The studio is exactly what we were looking for. We had direct access to the beach and to 4 pools. The place is quiet with a nice landscape. The groceries and most of the restaurants are 15 Km away in San Miguel. We enjoyed the paved bicycle path around the Island, mainly used by scooters. We did a lot of snorkeling using our own gear in front of the residence and in other location close by. The weather was a bit cloudy and it rained a few times (nothing to bother us)."

  • Absolutely perfect, great condo in a great location.

"Residents Reef is a great complex in one of the best locations, beautifull private beach that is never crowded, there is a pier right beside the resort to catch all your boating and diving excursions. Definitely have Veronica cook you at least one meal for a special night, you won't regret it. This unit is goes to the top of our list."

  • Gorgeous views & Tastefully decorated!

"Ellen's place is exactly as pictured and described! Since it is a little South of town, we rented a car at the airport and made a pit stop at Mega (similar to a super Walmart) just for some cereal, fruit and snacks. Everything was clean, FULLY STOCKED (you truly just need your clothes, everything else is there!!), felt completely and totally safe and not to mention the stunning views as soon as you walk in the front door! Residencias Reef dock is an excellent place for any snorkeling/scuba diving your heart desires; the companies will pick you up directly from the dock and bring you back. I suggest snorkeling in El Cielo; take a day trip to Chichen Itza (who doesn't want to see one of the 7 wonders of the world?), and simply relaxing on the beach or at one of the two pools. As far as restaurants go, try Casa Denis; Guidos; or Panchos Backyard. For drinks, this is a MUSTTTTT!!! Travel past the southern lighthouse (Punta Sur) and you'll end up on the Eastern side of the island. Pass Reggae's just a bit and you'll see a little hut-style place right on the water that says "25 Hour Bar - Welcome to Miami". Stop the car!! Relax in an ocean side hammock and enjoy a Coco-Loco coconut beverage or the absolute BEST mojito of your life!!! (Trust me on this, I searched the island upside down for the best mojito, this place takes the cake!!) I only wish we would have went earlier in the week to have made several trips back for more!! Back to the condo, Ellen was very nice to work with and her place is exactly what you need and want in a romantic getaway with your significant other! Oh, and those sheets!! Ellen isn't kidding when she said that Cariloha Bamboo sheets are the best sheets on Earth. We loved them so much, we went to Cariloha downtown and purchased a set for us to take home! WELL WORTH THE PRICE!! We intend to travel the world to many other continents and countries, but if we ever find ourselves on the beautiful island of Cozumel again, Ellen's condo at Residencias Reef is where we will be staying for sure."

  • Family Vacation

"My family stayed here (2 adults and 4 kids ages 9,6,4 and 2) and we had a great relaxing week. The house is exactly as described and really quite spacious. The rental rate is only slightly higher than the neighboring property with 13 units, but you get so much more at casa cielo (more space, private pool etc). A previous reviewer said the water pressure was low, but I didn't feel that it was inadequate at all. The onsite caretaker Lucio was readily available and very friendly. The house is on a property that is shared with another house. Casa Cielo is set back on the property, but from the pool and outdoor sitting area you can still see the ocean. As well it is protected from the ocean winds, which were gusting quite a bit when we were there. The beach was good for the kids. There is a rock wall which holds the sandy area from washing away, and there is an easy entry area for when you want to go in the water. There were small waves while we were there, while the rest of the area was experiencing red flag days. We snorkeled in a few areas but found the snorkeling to be the best right at casa cielo. There is a gentle slope in the underwater terrain, and minimal current. The house is just outside the town of san miguel which makes for quick drives into the city for dinner. There are a few restaurants within walking distance that serve standard mexican fare (tacos, quesadillas etc) and "american standards (burgers, fries etc). Although the owner recommended renting a vehicle, I would suggest that if you are a big family, you should avoid renting a van. In the end we payed double the Expedia rate in canadian for the week. That is the most I have ever paid for a rental. We would not have paid nearly that much in taxis. The island is set up for the cruise ships so a lot of places close at 5pm. In comparison to other places I have traveled in mexico (playa del carmen, akumal, puerto vallarta), I found cozumel to be on the more expensive side."
