  • Could not have been better

"I usually try to write a balanced review listing both positives and negatives. In this case all I have are overwhelmingly positive things to say. We've been at this property on three different occasions (a different condo each time) and this unit was by far was the best. Fully upgraded and well cared for. The kitchen is fully stocked if you'd like to eat in, and it's only a few minute walk away from a number of restaurants if you would prefer to dine out. The patio overlooks the pool area and amazing Caribbean ocean. Take advantage of happy hour from 2:00 to 3:00 each day at the pool bar (different drinks on special each day) and try a hamburger fresh off the grill. The beach is incredible with plenty of lounging chairs available. Highly recommend Xaman ha for first timers or returnees alike. A big thank you to the owner for allowing us to enjoy their spectacular condo."

  • Casa La Bella is truly beautiful and relaxing....Isla Mujeres.........Perfect Spot!

"We just returned from what was as good a family vacation as one could ever wish for. Casa La Bella's owners need to know how much we appreciate the detail that was put into this house. The patio and pool were the favorite spot. We often had a difficult time deciding whether to stay at the house or go to Play Norte. We did both, so all was good. The weather was next to perfect as well. I think I counted 20 drops of rain on the patio one afternoon and that was it. As always, Isla provides many choices for local cuisine of all varieties. This year the USD averaged 15-16 pesos in exchange at most restaurants, so the dollar went further here than in the US. We will certainly work on getting back here again. I recommend Casa La Bella and Isla Mujeres as a destination for any occasion. Once you enter the door you start to relax as the views hit you from all angles. I will end this as I close my eyes and imagine entering Casa La Bella again!"

  • Wonderful stay away from the madding crowds of Cancun !

"We are a family of 5, with 3 children aged 9, 13 and 16. The 'casita' really met our expectations : we were looking for an authentic experience in Mexico, far from the huge all inclusive resorts of the Mayan riviera. The village is peopled with Mexicans, Canadians and Americans. A short walk on a nice dirt path in the jungle will lead you to the nearby village of Chemuyil where you can buy your grocery or eat in nice restaurants. Two different cenotes are located within 100 meters of the casita, one is great for swimming as it is in open air and it looks like a natural pool in the middle of a natural garden, the other is more for snorkeling addicts as the major part of it is underground ! I particularly enjoyed walking alone on the beach (10 minutes walk through a nice path) and watch the sun rise in the morning, and even in the middle of the day during peak season ( we were there during the Christmas vacations) the beach was very quiet. We all enjoyed the waves during the windy days, and snorkeling on the coral reef which lies about 100 mts from the beach and is easy and safe to reach. In Akumal, about 10 minutes drive, we had the chance to snorkel with big sea turtles and stingrays, without having to pay for a guide. In Tulum, about 15 minutes drive, you can find a big "american style" supermarket, and of course the mayan ruins. The casita itself is simple, but functional. We did not use the air conditioning, because temperature was really nice. We enjoyed our meals outside, listening to colourful birds and watching friendly iguanas basking on the top of the walls. Big plastic water bottles are provided since it is not recommended to drink water from the faucet in Mexico... All windows and doors are protected by iron bars, but once again the place itself is very safe ( but you never know...). We liked the decoration in the house, very ´local' and personal. The only issue we had was with the internet, you have to plug a usb stick to your computer and recharge it from time to time as there is no wifi, but this only bothered our 16 year old teen... Cellular phones work very well if you really want to stay in touch with your relatives and friends ! The owners answered very quickly to our queries. We already look forward to our next vacation in the 'casita' ! Thanks Bill and Brenda !"

  • Clean, comfortable, great value.

"We enjoyed our stay, the condo was well kept, central to everywhere we wanted to be. The beach was nice and we had a great view. Every thing we needed in the kitchen was there. I don't go in the ocean much so the only drawback would be for people who wanted to go in, it was rocky, but we already knew that. Overall I it was a great place and when I return to Mexico I will check availability on this condo first. I would like to thank the owner and staff for a wonderful stay."
