  • We were very impressed with the beautiful Villa Mariposa!

"The bedrooms were gorgeous and they had their own balconies. Three of the four bedrooms had their own bathrooms and one of them had a jacuzzi tub. Storage for clothes was more than ample in all bedrooms. Two of the four bedrooms overlooked the back of the property which overlooked the beautiful grounds and pool. The view was picture perfect! The kitchen downstairs was fully stocked with every pot, pan, utensil or dinnerware piece that you could ever want. The living area was huge and nicely decorated and fully done in glass to overlook the beautiful grounds. There was plenty of outside furniture to relax on plus a jacuzzi and three hammocks for your pleasure. We spent many hours there relaxing and enjoying the pool. The property is very private with shrubbery, trees and flowers on all sides. It was in a beautiful setting. Our maid, Wendy did such a wonderful job of keeping everything clean for us. Edson, the manager was also very helpful in dealing with all our needs as well as David who fixed anything that needed fixing."

  • Beautiful home and close to the beach!

"Loved our stay! The home is beautiful, perfect space for 8 of us that traveled to Playa for the first time! Laura prepared a wonderful meal for us upon arrival and everyone went out of their way to help my son celebrate his birthday, surprising him with balloons and a cake! Thank you so much for the hospitality and letting us share your home! Loved how close we were to the beach and 5th Ave. Highly recommend!"

  • Enjoyable Stay

"Three of us rented this home for a golf trip for a week. It was perfect for our needs. It is a spacious home with three bedrooms with baths and a separate small sleeping area perfect for kids if needed. It has multiple comfortable sitting areas with comfortable furniture. The internet works well, with a couple repeaters in the bedroom areas to spread the signal. It was beautifully cleaned when we arrived. The kitchen is functional but a bit small, with no dishwasher. The cabinets are showing their age, as this is an older home, but they all work. Lighting is functional although mostly fluorescent, pretty typical for Mexico. The dining room has a spacious table for 8. Outdoors is a small, pleasant pool. The area is pretty closely packed with homes, so if privacy is a concern, this is not the place. Landscaping is well maintained, with a peek at the golf course through the trees. Unfortunately, the outdoor furniture is white plastic of the thin variety, the type that bends a bit when you lean back. Never felt quite safe in it. The location is perfect if you want to enjoy the main part of downtown Playa del Carmen. No need to drive as it is an easy walk to town and restaurants. Supermarkets are a short drive away. The home is in a gated community called Playacar. It seems relatively secure, with a number of large hotels, a golf course, and many homes. A book in the house trumpets discounted golf, but at the golf course we found that only applies if you rent for 6 months or more. That same book also highlights that you can use the Reef hotel facilities as a renter, but when we went there we found that they limited that amenity to 20 people a day, with a line forming at 8:30 each day. Not something we used. Getting to the beach is a bit problematic. The beaches are public, but getting to them is difficult. There is very little parking in Playcar, so you walk. Once on the beach, virtually everything on the beach is all-inclusive, so it's difficult to buy any food or drink on the beach. So when you go, take all you need with you. Certainly, the house has all the beach chairs and towels you need. In general, we loved the place. Their are some broken lampshades that need replacing. A number of lamps were unplugged and didn't seem to work. The water pressure in the shower in the back room was pretty poor. A water cooler with bottled water was a pleasant surprise. We would certainly rent this home again, although a number of details could be cleaned up."

  • A great Condo for a splendid vacation

"We spent two glorious weeks in this great condo. David, the owner was very colaborative since the begining. He provided all information as to the home and directions with plenty of information about the city. This helped us and our family tremendously. The administrator, Angela, solved any concern that we had too. The condo is big, exactly as the posted photos, with all amenities, a/c in every room, a comfortable kitchen, laundry room, etc. It´s all very clean and very well maintained. The bedrooms are big. We stayed 8 people without any problem. The open space of the living room/ dinning room it is very convenient to have quality time with the family. It has a large swimming pool with easy access. I will never forgot those nights with barbacue in the background. It´s close to the beach and downtown, in a closed and very safe neighborhood. It´s really a very nice place and i can´t wait to return. I strongly recommend it. If you want to have a great vacation, don´t doubt it and go to casa vela!!!. Thank You David and Angela"
