  • A wonderful stay

"My wife and I recently returned from 6 nights at the El Dorado Casitas. Overall, it was an excellent experience. Nate was very attentive in the pre-vacation planning and answered all my questions promptly. I had confidence that if something went awry, he would be able to quickly resolve it. Needless to say, nothing did. I studied the website extensively so that I knew what unit type we would be staying in. The unit that we rented with this package is a Casita Suite. Upgrades from this include pool suites on the upper level and swim-up pool suites on the lower levels. Each grouping of suites (about 20+) has a private common pool, large Jacuzzi and a swim up bar. These are steps away from the beach with first come first serve cabanas. All areas are served by a beach butler. With the exception of one day off, we had the same person each day and the guests get to know him very well. It's a very nice and personalized service. Gourmet inclusive is all the food and beverages (premium liquors too) included. Premium wines are not included, but the house wines are. Some of the extracurricular activities may be additional and the staff accepts tips. Otherwise, spending at the resort is very minimal. I kept some tipping pesos handy and rarely carried a wallet. Upon arrival, we were pleasantly surprised with a free upgrade to the upper level pool suite. After meeting other guests, we learned several others received one too. Regardless, we would have been happy. Some of the restaurants are better than others, but there are many to chose from. We never ate at the same place twice. The grounds are beautiful with about a mile from one end of the resort to the other. Club car shuttles will take you anywhere you need to go. We mostly enjoyed walking, but on the nice evening dinner out when the wife wears heals or if it is raining, the club car is very convenient. The beach is very nice, but the surf can be a bit rough. It makes for very nice wave sounds. Overall, with the premium drinks, breakfast, lunch, and dinner with a nice room all included, this is an excellent value and we will recommend this to our friends."

  • Nice Property -- remote location

"The unit that we rented was spacious, clean, and well-appointed. We were especially very happy with the ocean view and the large closets. The beach was fantastic, as was the pool. It could have been a perfect week. However, we were not prepared for how remote we were. There is nothing within walking distance; not even a bus stop. No groceries, no ATM, literally nothing. With five people, we spent $50/day on taxi fare getting into town for meals, groceries, etc. I would highly recommend renting a car. Also, there were little annoyances with the appliances. The washer/dryer combo came with no instructions, the iron did not work, nor the blender. There is really no assistance, you're basically on your own. We checked-in on Saturday and did not see a representative until Monday. Even calling a cab could be a pain, because we needed a 5-passenger and even with Spanish speakers in our group it often required a 20-minute delay when the wrong car would first appear. TIP -- if you have them purchase groceries for you in advance be prepared to pay in cash. We didn't expect that and so were nearly out of cash one day after arrival! And if you buy groceries, go to the Mega and NOT the WalMart. We have a 50-minute line at WalMart when we bought groceries. Mind you, if we had known these things in advance it could have been a very good trip. We would have brought much more cash, we would have checked all the appliances the first day and resolved the issues immediately rather than constantly discover problems at the last second, and we would have been mentally prepared for being on our own with no service desk to assist. If we had been prepared we would have been able to concentrate on the beautiful beach and surroundings."

  • Verano en Sabbia

"Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Como cada año rentamos en Sabbia durante todo el mes de julio. Este año hemos tenido a la mejor concierge en mucho tiempo, Nancy es excelente, siempre atenta y preocupada por nuestra comodidad. Sin duda una gran persona Como sugerencia, las cortinas y él área de la cocina, en especial la estufa se encuentran realmente descuidadas y percudidas, lo que hace incómoda la estancia."

  • Responsive owner, nice condo and location. Noise might be a problem for some people.

"Pros: The owner is responsive and helpful. This condo is only 2 blocks away from the beach and half block from the 5th ave. and the 10th ave., very convenient. I also love the nice private roof top patio with a jacuzzi, spacious bathroom, English TV stations, in-house washer/dryer, and nice room decoration. Cons: The dance music from the next door hotel's roof top bar, which was only two stories higher than this unit, were extremely loud for a couple nights until 2am or 3am. The owner talked to the hotel manager and was told it was because of private parties for Christmas. For the rest of our 8-night stays, I actually enjoyed the jazz music they played. Unfortunately, my husband still could not sleep well because of the music. All in all, I still enjoyed my stay in this unit."
