  • Terrific birthday getaway

"I just returned from celebrating my 60th birthday with my partner and a friend at Luna Encantada in Playa del Carmen. I'm very glad we did, because we were all really pleased with Rich and Jackie's condo. The condo and the complex itself were very clean and carefully managed by a local property management company. Every other day, the condo was serviced and cleaned, beds made and trash taken out. We found the staff very friendly and helpful and they always seemed to be cleaning the pool area and making sure chlorine levels in the pool (the water was always clean) were adequate. Noise levels at the condo were never a problem, especially since all the windows are double-paned. The complex is really convenient to Quinta Avenida (half a block away) and everything it has to offer, but by all means, explore the other streets off QA and everything they have to offer for an even more authentic experience. There is a very convenient taxi stand right at the corner of Calle 6 and QA if you don't feel like walking. And the bus terminal is an easy 5 minute walk away. Rich was very helpful in providing information about getting to the condo, where to eat, things to do, etc. When I had questions, he was quite prompt in replying. If there were any downsides to staying here, we'd have to say that because there is a stretch of coral on the beach at the complex, it didn't really make it a great place to just go and jump in the ocean. It would have been too rocky. But getting to another smoother part close by was no problem. The extra sofa in the master bedroom and one of the guest rooms seemed unnecessary and blocked access to the balcony. It just made those spaces a bit awkward. And the patio also felt like it had too much furniture. More hooks to hang wet towels would be great. When we arrived, Hurricane Earl was just starting to hit south of the Yucatan in Belize. We got some of the outlying storms from it which stirred up a seaweed dump on parts of the beach at Playa. The smell was a little off-putting but we realized that it's just part of life in the tropics. The property owners along the beach were doing their best to remove it quickly, though. We would not hesitate to recommend or return to Luna Encantada."

  • Great location!

"We stayed for 16 days with our two teenage daughters. The condo was spacious enough that we never felt on top of one another, even on a few "lazy hang out and do nothing" days that we had. The condo is well appointed and everything worked well. We felt very safe with the gated building and there was NO noise at all. The only thing we missed would have been some beach chairs and umbrella as the beach club gets pricey when you stay for an extended period of time. The location was optimal - short walks to the beach and to 5th avenue. So many wonderful restaurants within walking distance (Piola, de Local and the Pitted Date were some of our favorites!). Wal mart was accessible by taxi for about $5 USD each way. The guys at the tour booth on the corner (Alberto and Eduardo) were amazing and got us great deals on excursions - they were our go-to guys for questions about everything and anything!! Laura was very responsive to the very few minor concerns we had. Overall, I would highly recommend this property for vacation with family. We will definitely stay again!"

  • Great Family Option in PDC

"Our family of six (2 teenagers, 2 parents and 2 grandparents) recently stayed at the Peregrina Condo for the Christmas holidays. We would most certainly recommend this property to anyone considering staying in Playa del Carmen. Having three spacious bedrooms, all with plenty of storage space (lots of hangers too!) as well as ensuite bathrooms in all three was ideal. We appreciated having the full kitchen to enjoy breakfasts and lunches as well as serving up drinks and pre-dinner snacks. The upstairs terrace was lovely to have and we even ate our Christmas dinner up there. The location is very good - close to the Mega grocery store, three blocks to 5th Avenue, restaurants everywhere and a reasonable walk to the beach. It was also very easy to catch a taxi two blocks over on the main street to get to any of our excursions as was the bus station and (although a bit further) the collectivo station. The two main floor bedrooms do face out on to a bit of a busier street so if you like to sleep with your patio door open, this may bother you. With the hurricane shutters closed and AC on, it was not noticeable. This property is exactly as advertised and it is great value for the amount of space you get. The owner is fantastic to deal with and although we did have one small hiccup with the management team, they did ensure our potable water was always replenished, gas for the BBQ full and condo cleaned on the date and time specified. If you are considering this condo as an option, we would recommend it."

  • A Home Away From Home

"My family had a great week at Xaman Ha. We stayed at condo 7123, which has the best view of the beach and the pool. The condo is nicely furnished and it has a well equipped kitchen. There was a total of 7 adults and 2 children in our group. We had a 3 bedroom condo, which was more than spacious for all of us. On our second day of our trip, my grandmother injured her ankle and had to rest for most of the trip. The ladies at Xaman Ha were very accomadating and helpful in anything we needed for my grandmother, including a wheel chair and aloe vera plant to heal her injury. I recommend this place to everyone. We had such a great time and it was nice to come back to this beautiful place. It's a quiet area, and there's security in different locations of the resort. Is also walking distance to 5th Ave, (Quinta Avenida), which has plenty of restaurants, bars, and stores to do some shopping. You can also walk to the ferry to Cozumel. It really felt like a home away from home. Thank you to everyone at Xaman Ha!"
