  • Xaman Ha's best of the best--at Playa del Carmen's best beach

"Xaman Ha 7201 is the best of the best! We have tried several of Xaman Ha's gorgeous condos over the years, and 7201 not only has the most beautiful AND convenient location vis a vis the excellent pool and most private, yet centrally located beach in Playa del Carmen, but is updated to the max. Beautifully updated interior design, great lighting, and a better, newer kitchen than most folks have at home large microwave, Bosch stovetop, oven, dishwasher (a rarity here), and large fridge. Every bedroom and the living room has a good sized flatscreen TV with cable, and they even have Netflix. They also have a direct phone to the US, which can be very convenient. Their wifi was top notch, especially for this area where it is sometimes dicey, and we our cell coverage never faltered inside the condo (some condos you have to wander around to find a few bars). The master bedroom has huge picture windows towards the Caribbean on two sides, and a door to the patio, which is optimally situated to catch the winds from the sea (unlike the other side of the Xaman Ha complex). The bathrooms have been remodeled with modern shower designs. There is a small library of books for the sunburned or homebodies, if they can't find a show to suit them on Netflix or HBO. They even have a great stereo system. ...and a very convenient parking space! The management company is friendly and helpful, the front desk provides concierge service better than most US hotels, and the pool bar is a great hangout with better food and prices than most neighborhood joints in the US. In our humble opinion, Xaman Ha 7201 is the best vacation home in the world."

  • The house is gorgeous

"The house is gorgeous. It is meticulously cleaned every day. The staff are lovely. It is very well-appointed and comfortable. The kitchens were great for cooking. There is a wonderful cenote just minutes from the house - beautiful, clear water. The beach near the house isn't great for swimming but there is a lot of interesting coral and rocks. It is about a 25-minute drive to Tulum. If you are driving at night very carefully watch your speed. There are a lot of checkpoints and they will pull you over for going even 1 km over the speed limit. Our favorite meal in Tulum proper was at Zebra. They house-make everything including some fabulous chili sauces and salsas. Near the house check out Oscar and Lalo, just 5 min drive away. Lovely setting, playground for kids and good food."

  • Romantic, Family Friendly, This Place Has It All

"We traveled to Playa del Carmen as a family of six, grandparents in our sixties, children in their thirties and grandchildren seven and three. Gillian's beautiful condo accommodated us all perfectly. The condo is visually stunning, three large bedrooms, one on the first floor and two on the second and three full bathrooms. The layout meant that we could be together and still have privacy when we wanted a little alone time. The kitchen had everything we needed and although we loved going out to sample the wonderful food we also enjoyed shopping at the Mega, a short cab ride away, and making our own feasts. The dining room fit us all easily and there were plenty of dishes. There was a blender so we could make frozen drinks which we then took out to the amazing patio that faces a private, bird watchers paradise. Each day we identified new birds and our grandchildren also loved watching for the coatis, small furry animals, that passed through several times a day. The pool was clean and large enough to swim in or just to lay on a tube and soak up the sun. A short walk from the condo brought us to a white sand beach that was perfect for walking, sitting or splashing in the waves. The condo came with beach chairs, umbrella and cooler - everything we could want to enjoy the spectacular view. It was also a short walk into Playa which we did frequently. Gillian was so helpful in answering all our questions before we left and Chris, the condo manager, was helpful while we were in Mexico. Playa itself was a lovely place to visit. It felt very safe, it was easy to get around both on foot and using taxis - we never felt the need for a car. The food was excellent from the cheap and tasty tacos directly across the street from the Mega grocery store to the more upscale options along 5th Avenue, a pedestrian shopping and eating area closed to vehicles for many, many blocks. We've been to a number of places in Mexico but this was our first time in Playa. We will be back."

  • Paradise!

"This was our second two week stay at this condo. To start, the owner Walter is very easy to work with and very accommodating. The property manager on site Liza is there for any need you may have during your stay. It is in a very secure location with 24 hour security. It is a very well maintained gated community. It is one block from 5th avanue and two very easy blocks to wonderful beaches. The pool and grounds are simply amazing. The only downside is..... Having to leave. I highly recommend this condo for your next holiday. My family and I will be counting the days until our next stay."
