"Our stay here was just as good as in previous years. We love coming back to stay in this condo as it is always extremely clean, well maintained and very comfortable. Location is the best. They take very good care of the property and the tenants. The new restaurant and beach service was also a big plus!"

  • Would visit again!

"In the past few times our family went to Akumal, we stayed at Las Casitas but couldn't book a unit this time. We picked Casa Solymar based on the reviews - it looked classy and had three bedrooms and was walking distance to the main beach. The villa was a little set back from the road and had a lush garden. It was spacious with a great view, and everything was clean. The kitchen was well stocked and even had some oil and spices. The pool was a lot bigger than we thought, a great size for our family. We swam in it a few times a day. It was clean and not over-chlorinated. The villa provided an electric cart which was helpful when we made several trips to the grocery store or decided to go to Yal-ku which was a long walk away. We didn't think it was such a plus point when making our reservation, but it was really a nice convenience. The bedrooms upstairs were a little warm in late March. My bedroom had a faulty AC unit and never cooled down. When I contacted the manager, Monica Estrada, she sent someone to look at it right away, and the AC was replaced that very day. Monica was very helpful. Due to passport issues, I had to arrive two days later than my family and she arranged additional airport transfer. Every time I emailed her, I received a reply right away. Please be aware that the wifi connection doesn't reach the upstairs bedrooms. The beach is very rocky so you can't go swimming there. The view, though, is spectacular. On very windy days, the salt spray can get 100 ft right up to the windows. When we stayed at Las Casitas in the past, we used to tip the housekeeper every day whatever we liked. Here at Casa Solymar, the guest book said to tip the housekeeper and gardener 15% of the cost of the rental. We also felt that being asked to tip the gardener is quite unusual. Shouldn't the maintenance of the pool and garden be factored into the cost of the rental? The villa management should have asked for the rental + 15% upfront instead. The tipping request and amount felt like a hidden fee. Tipping should be optional. We did tip the staff because we wanted to, but didn't tip the 15% and felt guilty that they might not have been paid their fair share. But paying them is the responsibility of the management, not the guests. All said and done, Casa Solymar is a solid five stars and I would go back for a visit. Thank you, Monica, for making our stay a lovely one."

  • Xaman Ha's best of the best--at Playa del Carmen's best beach

"Xaman Ha 7201 is the best of the best! We have tried several of Xaman Ha's gorgeous condos over the years, and 7201 not only has the most beautiful AND convenient location vis a vis the excellent pool and most private, yet centrally located beach in Playa del Carmen, but is updated to the max. Beautifully updated interior design, great lighting, and a better, newer kitchen than most folks have at home large microwave, Bosch stovetop, oven, dishwasher (a rarity here), and large fridge. Every bedroom and the living room has a good sized flatscreen TV with cable, and they even have Netflix. They also have a direct phone to the US, which can be very convenient. Their wifi was top notch, especially for this area where it is sometimes dicey, and we our cell coverage never faltered inside the condo (some condos you have to wander around to find a few bars). The master bedroom has huge picture windows towards the Caribbean on two sides, and a door to the patio, which is optimally situated to catch the winds from the sea (unlike the other side of the Xaman Ha complex). The bathrooms have been remodeled with modern shower designs. There is a small library of books for the sunburned or homebodies, if they can't find a show to suit them on Netflix or HBO. They even have a great stereo system. ...and a very convenient parking space! The management company is friendly and helpful, the front desk provides concierge service better than most US hotels, and the pool bar is a great hangout with better food and prices than most neighborhood joints in the US. In our humble opinion, Xaman Ha 7201 is the best vacation home in the world."

  • Unforgettable Home Sweet Home Away from Home!

"Casa La Roca in Puerto Aventuras is an absolute dream. Our family of eight decided it had been far too long since we had gotten away from the day-to-day together, so we began to plan our trip. We came across both Casa La Roca and Casa Mariposa and originally intended to book Casa Mariposa, but it happened to be booked for the timeframe we were looking to come...and are we ever so glad that it was because Casa La Roca was over-the-top in the most "is-this-real-life" ways. From the moment you arrive, service is over the top. Edwardo and a few other gentleman greeted us and immediately started helping us carry in our luggage and groceries - they even started putting all the groceries away! It only took one step into the house for my Mom's eyes to fill with tears; if that doesn't tell you how breathtaking this home and location are, I don't know what would. Your eyes are immediately drawn to the floor-to-ceiling windows at the center of the home that show off expansive views of the Caribbean Sea and the private infinity pool. Each of the bedrooms have beautiful en suite bathrooms, stunning ocean views and lovely privacy. We woke up to the sunrise peeking through our curtains each morning...you won't want to miss the sunrises - the house is in the most prime location for them and there is something about watching the sunrise here that makes time stand still. Daisy cooked breakfast for us each weekday morning we were there and every meal was unique, fresh and delicious. Daisy is an absolute pleasure - we wanted to take her home with us! ;) We also had Daisy and her Sister cook us a homemade, authentic meal for dinner one night and I highly recommend this experience. The gentlemen who showed up every morning to clean and refill the pool were always pleasant and not at all intrusive. We were able to kayak and snorkel right off the rocks behind the house and spent the majority of our time at home as ALL of us wanted to squeeze as much time out of this beautiful refuge for our souls as we could. Any inquiry we had was answered promptly by Edwardo or Melodie - they are both superb to work with! Melodie was extremely responsive through our whole planning / booking process and I highly recommend booking through her. We used the sound system inside and outside every day - reggae jams filled our days by the pool and our evenings cooking dinners together in the kitchen. Casa La Roca was a dream getaway for us...we can't wait for next time! Our deepest love & graditude"
