  • Wonderful location, terrific views, fine unit

"Others have said this, but it's true: The infinity pool is beautiful, and big enough to get some exercise swimming laps; the views from the oceanside floor to ceiling doors of the unit are all about the pool and the just-beyond ocean, really quite beautiful; and the tidal pools (actually swimmable, with stone stair entries, not just wading pools) are pretty unique. The nearest easily swimmable beach (very nearby, at the Catalonia Resort - with a fine and quite reasonable gym, btw) is total sand entry, well-protected, and not too crowded, with an even less busy and quite lovely lagoon next to it. Tyler's unit feels spacious, and is very comfortable, well-equipped and tastefully furnished. Ceiling fans everywhere. His "welcome guide" has all sorts of helpful info, both about the unit and building and the many attractions of the area. Tyler himself goes out of his way to answer questions before and during your visit, and obviously wants to make your visit as perfect as possible -- a great resource! And Puerto Aventuras, new to us, is quite a lovely place to hang out in, and to base out of as you explore the Riviera Maya. Lots of very good, and safe (eat the salads, don't worry about the ice, etc.), and very reasonably priced restaurants. Only the goods sold in the many tourist stores by the marina are overpriced (and they are way overpriced -- try to bargain, by all means, or buy elsewhere). Our only caveat -- and I feel it should be mentioned, though it didn't at all ruin our visit: The pool is not small -- and often surprisingly empty -- but there are really only a couple areas for folks to lounge about beside it. One of them is right in front of your small but nice oceanside yard. If there happen to be daily happy-hour celebrants who like that area better than the other one, and are loud about it, and feel like smoking and blowing it your way, you'll notice it, and have to deal with the smoke wafting into your lovely unit. Many folks probably wouldn't notice this, or care, I'm sure."
