  • Excellent Experience!!

"My husband, two children (ages 14 and 11) and I stayed at this condo for one week. From the time we landed in Cancun, the trip went beautifully. I'm glad we rented a car at the airport; in combination with the location of the condo, we had access to everything we wanted to see and do. We were met by Cece, the property manager who couldn't have been nicer. The condo was clean and the kitchen was well-stocked. We cooked many of our own meals there and had all that we needed. There were two charcoal grills that could be shared by the people in the complex. Being right next to the pool was ideal, and it was never crowded. Loved the iguana! The beach wasn't crowded either, and access to it was right there. The snorkeling place right next door took us out to the coral reef... saw our first barracuda! Because the condo is not in Cancun proper, it had an authentic feel to it. What an experience for our kids to walk into town to shop at the tortilleria where they could watch the old proprietor and his wife making the tortillas -- or to go to the produce market and buy fresh vegetables, a few of which we couldn't even identify. (We felt adventurous.) I was so glad that we chose to stay off the resort strip so that we could experience Mexico as it is. Of course, the town still has plenty of tourists and lots of gimmicky shops in the plaza, but local culture is all around. Very cool! My only complaint would be the thin pillows. When we travel, we usually stay in hotels, and I appreciate their luxurious bedding. After the first night, I was fine, but I did miss the fluffy pillow."

  • Best Vacation Ever!

"Last month my college girlfriends and I gathered for a long in the making reunion. We were all so excited we could have slept on the beach (although it’s been around 40 years since we did that!). Fortunately we were spared the camping adventure and ended up at Casa South Breeze in Puerto Morelos Mexico. Wow, we’re coming up in the world! I was totally blown away by the place. First of all I was impressed with the arched front door floating in the iron scroll work flanked by beautiful vines of bougainvillea. This opens to a brick patio landscaped with tropical plants and a seating area to relax in under the plants. This area leads to another impressive door lit by a huge Mexican iron chandelier. I stepped into a Mexican villa decorated with tile floors, comfortable furniture; looking out to the pool and 180 degree ocean view. The kitchen is large with a stunning tile mosaic of fish as a focal point. Eight people could easily fit here all working at the same time. This kitchen has access to a screened-in outside working kitchen for grilling. The porch also has a table for outside dining; and always the magnificent view of the pool and ocean. There is a master bedroom on the first floor with a Mexican tile bath, and a private screened-in porch with chairs and hammock; again with the pool and ocean view. The rest of the bedrooms (3) are on the second floor and 2 have private baths. What I love about this place is the house has many architectural angles in the back, allowing each of the upstairs rooms to have their own balcony and 180 degree view of the pool and ocean. Every room has beautiful windows that open for a great cross ventilation of ocean breeze. I have enjoyed the cooling colors in the house, the art work and the exquisite ironwork throughout. Even the kitchen sink is angled for the best view of the ocean. I have truly enjoyed every minute of my time here. You will feel at peace and enjoy all the beauty Mexico and Casa South Breeze has to offer."

  • Great Time In Puerto Morelos

"Our vacation began in Playa Del Carmen with 6 of our friends the week before we came to Palma Real. They all still work and could only get away for a week and we wanted to stay longer but somewhere new to us. Having never been to Puerto Morelos and not knowing if we would like the area I booked the condo for 2 weeks. Big mistake!! I should have taken it for a month! Puerto Morelos is now my new favorite place! The condo was comfortable and had everything we needed. Didn't take long to settle into a daily routine. We met friendly people around the pool, both owners and vacationers, that gave us tips on where to eat and what to check out. Most afternoons everyone gathered around the pool for beverages and chat time. The first walk into town going around the port was interesting to say the least but we never felt threatened. We went into town almost every evening for dinner because we wanted to try all the small "hole in the wall" eateries we saw! The food was so good and very reasonable, so why cook! We only had 1 dinner that was just ok. If it was just the 2 of us we took a taxi back, if we went with people we met at the condo, we walked back together. Just bring a little flashlight or use your phone flashlight, cause the road behind the port is bumpy! Sometimes we went into town twice a day, if we went for breakfast or to the little market for grocery items. The taxis are plentiful but negotiate the price before getting in. It's different every time! After running around on numerous excursions in PDC the week before, it was nice to just chill by the pool and go for beach walks. The only downside in the condo location is that you can't walk the beach north to town. We did walk south past the Caribbean Reef condos and El-Cid all inclusive to the marina. In front of those places the beaches are raked and nice. Where there are open areas or where nothing is built there is sargassum grass that's washed ashore along with assorted plastic bottles and junk. At Palma Real, Gustavo keeps the beach nice. The owner of the condo, Eric, was a pleasure to work with and promptly answered any email questions I had. The property management, Mayan Riviera Properties, was just as responsive to any problems at the condo. We stopped at their office while in town one morning and reported a couple small things that needed to be fixed and they were there that afternoon to make repairs! We enjoyed our stay and look forward to coming back to PM and Palma Real!"
