  • Fabulous Ten Day Stay

"We stayed at La Palapa in April 2016. We took Canada Transfer from the airport and they gave us a complimentary 15 minutes stop for a few groceries to deal with the arrival day. We arrived to a beautiful home and a beautiful yard. We were greeted by Carmen and then Colleen, and familiarized with the workings of the house. Our holiday quickly began that afternoon. The house is large, with plenty of ceiling fans and moveable fans as well. We got better at pushing the hot air out of the house as the week went on. The main floor bedroom has air conditioning and locks so that is where we slept and kept our belongings. I think at the cooler times of the year, sleeping upstairs with the beautiful views and wrap around deck would be fabulous. The front gate is very secure and we felt very safe and comfortable right away. The backyard has a very clean, beautiful pool which we enjoyed immensely. There is wonderful greenery in the backyard and we loved all the different animals that visited throughout the week, especially the very colorful birds. The little gecko living in one of the conch shells was better than tv. We never turned the tv on but there is a nice flat screen tv to watch if you need. We definitely utilized the outdoor shower on the upper level. Was daring but wonderful. We cooked more at the house than we thought we would, enjoyed getting familiar with the charcoal grilling. The walk on the beach ( across the road)to town is twenty five minutes at a casual pace. We went in a couple mornings to enjoy a wonderful variety of eggs at El Nicho restaurant. A must try! Opens at 7:30am and is busy quickly. You can also walk the road to town, which has plenty of shade and is a nice walk as well. It was $50 peso to town from the Pearl Desire Hotel, just down the road from the house. We usually walked unless we had groceries. Carmen came mid week to do a change of bedding and clean the house. She worked extremely hard and went above and beyond what we needed. We enjoyed a nice chat with her using the itranslate on the ipad, Carlos came by twice to balance the pool and it sparkled throughout the week. Would we go back? Yes, we are currently looking at what our next dates will be. This is our first time renting a private house versus an all inclusive hotel and it was great. We thank Colleen for being so good to us and opening her home for us to relax and enjoy."

  • Best Vacation Ever!

"Last month my college girlfriends and I gathered for a long in the making reunion. We were all so excited we could have slept on the beach (although it’s been around 40 years since we did that!). Fortunately we were spared the camping adventure and ended up at Casa South Breeze in Puerto Morelos Mexico. Wow, we’re coming up in the world! I was totally blown away by the place. First of all I was impressed with the arched front door floating in the iron scroll work flanked by beautiful vines of bougainvillea. This opens to a brick patio landscaped with tropical plants and a seating area to relax in under the plants. This area leads to another impressive door lit by a huge Mexican iron chandelier. I stepped into a Mexican villa decorated with tile floors, comfortable furniture; looking out to the pool and 180 degree ocean view. The kitchen is large with a stunning tile mosaic of fish as a focal point. Eight people could easily fit here all working at the same time. This kitchen has access to a screened-in outside working kitchen for grilling. The porch also has a table for outside dining; and always the magnificent view of the pool and ocean. There is a master bedroom on the first floor with a Mexican tile bath, and a private screened-in porch with chairs and hammock; again with the pool and ocean view. The rest of the bedrooms (3) are on the second floor and 2 have private baths. What I love about this place is the house has many architectural angles in the back, allowing each of the upstairs rooms to have their own balcony and 180 degree view of the pool and ocean. Every room has beautiful windows that open for a great cross ventilation of ocean breeze. I have enjoyed the cooling colors in the house, the art work and the exquisite ironwork throughout. Even the kitchen sink is angled for the best view of the ocean. I have truly enjoyed every minute of my time here. You will feel at peace and enjoy all the beauty Mexico and Casa South Breeze has to offer."

  • Very Nice, Everything you need is there!

"This property is excellent and has a lot to offer. We had 2 families for a total of 10 people ages from 2-49. Never did we feel cramped. Everyone had their own living space. The pool, hot tub and beach are all at your fingertips. The children definitely used all of them. We did a snorkeling trip, Chichen Itza trip and XPLOR that Angie set up for us. All were great. Snorkeling was amazing, the kids loved XPLOR, Chichen Itza was a long day, but we still enjoyed it. We rented a vehicle to explore a little more on our own. We did cenotes and dolphin beach many times. We had some local mayans prepare a few meals for us and they are were perfect, something for everyone! The town square and grocery store are a short drive away."

  • Excellent Experience!!

"My husband, two children (ages 14 and 11) and I stayed at this condo for one week. From the time we landed in Cancun, the trip went beautifully. I'm glad we rented a car at the airport; in combination with the location of the condo, we had access to everything we wanted to see and do. We were met by Cece, the property manager who couldn't have been nicer. The condo was clean and the kitchen was well-stocked. We cooked many of our own meals there and had all that we needed. There were two charcoal grills that could be shared by the people in the complex. Being right next to the pool was ideal, and it was never crowded. Loved the iguana! The beach wasn't crowded either, and access to it was right there. The snorkeling place right next door took us out to the coral reef... saw our first barracuda! Because the condo is not in Cancun proper, it had an authentic feel to it. What an experience for our kids to walk into town to shop at the tortilleria where they could watch the old proprietor and his wife making the tortillas -- or to go to the produce market and buy fresh vegetables, a few of which we couldn't even identify. (We felt adventurous.) I was so glad that we chose to stay off the resort strip so that we could experience Mexico as it is. Of course, the town still has plenty of tourists and lots of gimmicky shops in the plaza, but local culture is all around. Very cool! My only complaint would be the thin pillows. When we travel, we usually stay in hotels, and I appreciate their luxurious bedding. After the first night, I was fine, but I did miss the fluffy pillow."
