  • Very nice condo at reasonable price in Puerto Morelos

"We spent a week in this spacious condo. Is is a very comfortable accommodation with good beds, nice furniture and a well equipped kitchen. It is bright , airy ( though there is good AC as well) and spacious. There are some obstructed views of the sea which is conveniently located a block away. The walk to town, restaurants and small shops is 10-15 minutes. There are many nice, relatively inexpensive places for food and drinks. The local ceviche is particularly wonderful. The aspects of this property we did not like is that the pool and grounds are quite small and closed in by several buildings. When it is very windy at the beach , we like a pool setting. Also the terraces are very small and cannot accommodate a table for meals. Since we were on the 3rd floor, we had to have all our meals inside. While in PM, we would also recommend a trip to the jungle spa and a snorkeling excursion. You do not need a car but if you want to explore, daily rentals are available in PM for $40-$50/day"

  • Fabulous Ten Day Stay

"We stayed at La Palapa in April 2016. We took Canada Transfer from the airport and they gave us a complimentary 15 minutes stop for a few groceries to deal with the arrival day. We arrived to a beautiful home and a beautiful yard. We were greeted by Carmen and then Colleen, and familiarized with the workings of the house. Our holiday quickly began that afternoon. The house is large, with plenty of ceiling fans and moveable fans as well. We got better at pushing the hot air out of the house as the week went on. The main floor bedroom has air conditioning and locks so that is where we slept and kept our belongings. I think at the cooler times of the year, sleeping upstairs with the beautiful views and wrap around deck would be fabulous. The front gate is very secure and we felt very safe and comfortable right away. The backyard has a very clean, beautiful pool which we enjoyed immensely. There is wonderful greenery in the backyard and we loved all the different animals that visited throughout the week, especially the very colorful birds. The little gecko living in one of the conch shells was better than tv. We never turned the tv on but there is a nice flat screen tv to watch if you need. We definitely utilized the outdoor shower on the upper level. Was daring but wonderful. We cooked more at the house than we thought we would, enjoyed getting familiar with the charcoal grilling. The walk on the beach ( across the road)to town is twenty five minutes at a casual pace. We went in a couple mornings to enjoy a wonderful variety of eggs at El Nicho restaurant. A must try! Opens at 7:30am and is busy quickly. You can also walk the road to town, which has plenty of shade and is a nice walk as well. It was $50 peso to town from the Pearl Desire Hotel, just down the road from the house. We usually walked unless we had groceries. Carmen came mid week to do a change of bedding and clean the house. She worked extremely hard and went above and beyond what we needed. We enjoyed a nice chat with her using the itranslate on the ipad, Carlos came by twice to balance the pool and it sparkled throughout the week. Would we go back? Yes, we are currently looking at what our next dates will be. This is our first time renting a private house versus an all inclusive hotel and it was great. We thank Colleen for being so good to us and opening her home for us to relax and enjoy."

  • Perfect for our family. Carlos (property manager) is a true gentleman and an incredible person!

"My wife and I, w/4 kids (9,11,12,14) stayed at Palma Real in this fabulous penthouse condo with a rooftop to die for. The description on the VRBO website was accurate and the negative reviews (if any) of this property should be taken with a grain of salt. Upon our arrival we were met by the owner and the property manager Carlos. The welcome and hospitality received was second to none. We booked very last minute (24 hours prior to arrival) and given the last minute we did have to wait a little until the evening to gain access to the condo (cleaning). Although more troubling for our children, Mike (the owner) was extremely gracious and we were able to store our luggage. We were able to change and use the facility for relaxation until our time had come. Both Mike and his family were over the top gracious in their welcome and between them and Carlos we were not left to figure things out on our own. They provided information on where to go, how to get there, and which restaurants were reasonable. Throughout the week we went to most of the places recommended and we could not disagree with their choices. The condo itself was incredible with views that were breathtaking and invulnerable to waking up in a bad mood! We can hardly wait to return to the paradise of Mexico. The facilities at Palma Real were fantastic and there was nothing we wished were different. With respect to the beach, it too was beautiful. It was unfortunate for the wind (prior to our arrival) as it caused the seaweed to wash ashore. It's hard to argue the weather and what nature brings, and to ask someone (Carlos or otherwise) to maintain and stay on top of the seaweed is unreasonable. We managed to enjoy the beach nonetheless and my son and I had a great time kayaking and trying to run the waves! If we wanted to enjoy that "pristine" beach we just had to walk about 10-15 minutes into the amazing town of Puerto Morelos where the beach was everything you could imagine and ask for. The town itself was a slice of Mexican Heaven and I hate to say good things about it because I don't want it to get too busy! The town square was an amazing experience and we were able to provide our children with a true Mexican experience and culture. They embraced us with kindness and appreciation. Everyday we went to the local fish market and chose one of the daily catches and each day our dinner in our condo was amazing. We cant wait to return! Thank you Carlos for everything! Any cons are outweighed by the pros!!!!"

  • Beach time

"My husband and I enjoyed a relaxing 9 days at this condo. We found it well furnished and comfortable with an amazing ocean view and breeze from the balcony. The quiet, sandy beach is easy to walk and there are several palapas to enjoy. We did rent bikes and explored many wonderful restaurants in town. I would recommend a flashlight as the road gets quite dark at night. The owner was extremely accommodating as was the staff and we hope to be able to return another year."
