  • Very nice condo at reasonable price in Puerto Morelos

"We spent a week in this spacious condo. Is is a very comfortable accommodation with good beds, nice furniture and a well equipped kitchen. It is bright , airy ( though there is good AC as well) and spacious. There are some obstructed views of the sea which is conveniently located a block away. The walk to town, restaurants and small shops is 10-15 minutes. There are many nice, relatively inexpensive places for food and drinks. The local ceviche is particularly wonderful. The aspects of this property we did not like is that the pool and grounds are quite small and closed in by several buildings. When it is very windy at the beach , we like a pool setting. Also the terraces are very small and cannot accommodate a table for meals. Since we were on the 3rd floor, we had to have all our meals inside. While in PM, we would also recommend a trip to the jungle spa and a snorkeling excursion. You do not need a car but if you want to explore, daily rentals are available in PM for $40-$50/day"

  • Perfect place for a quiet, relaxing, beach vacation!

"We had a fabulous stay at the Caribbean Reef Villas. Puerto Morelos is the perfect place for people who are looking for somewhere quiet, relaxing, and less touristy than nearby Cancun and Playa del Carmen. We loved exploring all of the small local restaurants, a great town for cocktail and seafood lovers. When the locales were full of locals, we knew we were in the right spot! Karl is great. This was my first experience using VRBO so I'm sure I asked plenty of dumb questions, but he was very helpful and extremely responsive. The condo, beach, pool, and entire property in general is very well maintained and the caretakers were very helpful with any questions we had. They even made phone calls for us when we were struggling with language barrier. We were planning to travel with 5 adults, and ended up only having would have been a tight stay with all 5 of us. We got groceries to have breakfast and lunch in the condo and went into town for dinner each night. This worked out great. A few things of note... -Some folks reviews have mentioned being able to walk to town via the beach. I'm not sure if the beach front towards town has changed since these folks have been there but you can no longer do that, we tried. However, if you walk out to the main drag outside the Villas it is very easy to grab a taxi, and don't let them charge you more than 50 Pesos to get to town! It is also very easy to get a taxi back once in town. -We got groceries at the Super Chedraui right off of the highway exit to Puerto Morelos and there were many cabs in the parking lot, so that was not an issue. -We wanted to go snorkeling during our stay but the majority of the days were VERY windy and the port was closed. Not sure if this is a function of the time of year or what. We walked down to Marina el Cid resort, and the folks doing the snorkeling tours there were very helpful albeit the language barrier. I cannot wait to go back to Puerto Morelos and really hope that it stays the small, quaint, fishing village it is and doesn't get taken over by huge resorts!!!"

  • 4 Couples + 10 Days@ Casa Pajaros= 1 Incredible Vacation

"Our stay @ Casa Pajaros began with a brief meeting with Pam the owner and Roberto the manager. They showed us the house gave us all the pertinent info. and instructions and then left us to get settled in and start enjoying the place. The meeting was very informal which made us all feel very comfortable! The house is just as beautiful as the pictures in the ad show. Truly Casa Pajaros is just a small resort! All the details of a vacation home have been addressed here, as everything you would need for an extended stay is provided. Puerto Morelos is very relaxed and slow paced. There are plenty of options for dining out or groceries so you can eat in and enjoy this gorgeous property. Thanks again to Pam and Roberto and also to Adrian, we hope to be able to visit again soon!"
