  • Fantastic

"My family had a wonderful week at PlayaSol. We enjoyed the condo, the pool (larger than it looks online), the other residents and visitors around the pool and the town. The condo was clean on our arrival and had everything we needed. Ron answered all questions quickly. Anna was on site if we needed her and also responded quickly to my husbands texts. The air conditioner worked well. The midweek cleaning was fantastic. 👍🏻 The town square is a great gathering place- one of my sons played soccer one night, a band played another, and a local rally/race occurred on the third. We walked to town most evenings. The boys and their dad visited CrocoCun and loved it and I took a cooking class at The Little Mexican Cooking School (1 block away). The condo was in a fantastic location. We found our way to the grocery store on the highway ($60 pesos by cab round trip) and bought fresh tortillas 2 -3 blocks away and made many meals in the kitchen. The beach was quite clean- there is some seaweed but not enough to be concerned about. It has no odor and a machine rakes the beach most days. The water was beautiful, warm and calm. There are no rocks on the shore/in the water. We went snorkeling - we used the shop just south of the condos on the beach. We had a great guide who was very caring with our youngest nervous son, who ended up loving it. We ate at many local restaurants which have filtered water. We rented a car at Eurocar (~40 US/day) in town for our day trip to Tulum and Grand Cenote. Watch out for the speed bumps. We took USA transfers round trip from and to the airport for ~85 US dollars round trip. All in all - a fantastic vacation. My oldest boy was disappointed about the lack of waves at the beach- he enjoys body surfing- but there was plenty to do without 🌊s. My children also wished the wifi was better- but I had no problem downloading 4 tv shows to watch on the plane."

  • Great condo beachfront

"The pictures of the condo a very accurate. Ideally located right next to the pool and on the beach. The condo is large and sleeps 4 easily, has two bathrooms and is clean. It can be hard to find the condo when arriving, but easy if you use Google Map."

  • Perfect place for a quiet, relaxing, beach vacation!

"We had a fabulous stay at the Caribbean Reef Villas. Puerto Morelos is the perfect place for people who are looking for somewhere quiet, relaxing, and less touristy than nearby Cancun and Playa del Carmen. We loved exploring all of the small local restaurants, a great town for cocktail and seafood lovers. When the locales were full of locals, we knew we were in the right spot! Karl is great. This was my first experience using VRBO so I'm sure I asked plenty of dumb questions, but he was very helpful and extremely responsive. The condo, beach, pool, and entire property in general is very well maintained and the caretakers were very helpful with any questions we had. They even made phone calls for us when we were struggling with language barrier. We were planning to travel with 5 adults, and ended up only having would have been a tight stay with all 5 of us. We got groceries to have breakfast and lunch in the condo and went into town for dinner each night. This worked out great. A few things of note... -Some folks reviews have mentioned being able to walk to town via the beach. I'm not sure if the beach front towards town has changed since these folks have been there but you can no longer do that, we tried. However, if you walk out to the main drag outside the Villas it is very easy to grab a taxi, and don't let them charge you more than 50 Pesos to get to town! It is also very easy to get a taxi back once in town. -We got groceries at the Super Chedraui right off of the highway exit to Puerto Morelos and there were many cabs in the parking lot, so that was not an issue. -We wanted to go snorkeling during our stay but the majority of the days were VERY windy and the port was closed. Not sure if this is a function of the time of year or what. We walked down to Marina el Cid resort, and the folks doing the snorkeling tours there were very helpful albeit the language barrier. I cannot wait to go back to Puerto Morelos and really hope that it stays the small, quaint, fishing village it is and doesn't get taken over by huge resorts!!!"

  • Caribbean Paradise!

"Andrea and Dick from Mpls stayed there for 10 glorious days in early February. The weather couldn't have been more perfect and the breeze from the Gulf was lovely! The condo is beautiful, exceptionally clean and comfortable. The pictures are accurate. The staff at the condo are very accommodating and we enjoyed talking to them and practicing Spanish. We were so happy to not rent a car as it's not necessary to go into town - our cab ride was 50 pesos (plus tip) and the taxi drivers were all nice. We ate at 12 or more different restaurants in town and all were delicious! We found a few cafes that we really liked and the coffee was great too! The town square was buzzing with vendors and musicians and break dancers which was all very entertaining. If you like to snorkel, we went through Pelicanos. It was $25 US per person which was cheap. 'Charlie Brown' was our guide, he is very experienced and a funny guy. If you want a laid back vacation without the hustle and bustle of Cancun, this is the place. One other aspect that we really enjoyed was there were plenty of local people and tourists from other parts of Mexico enjoying this sweet town as well. We plan to be back in 2018!!!!"
