  • Romantic, Family Friendly, This Place Has It All

"We traveled to Playa del Carmen as a family of six, grandparents in our sixties, children in their thirties and grandchildren seven and three. Gillian's beautiful condo accommodated us all perfectly. The condo is visually stunning, three large bedrooms, one on the first floor and two on the second and three full bathrooms. The layout meant that we could be together and still have privacy when we wanted a little alone time. The kitchen had everything we needed and although we loved going out to sample the wonderful food we also enjoyed shopping at the Mega, a short cab ride away, and making our own feasts. The dining room fit us all easily and there were plenty of dishes. There was a blender so we could make frozen drinks which we then took out to the amazing patio that faces a private, bird watchers paradise. Each day we identified new birds and our grandchildren also loved watching for the coatis, small furry animals, that passed through several times a day. The pool was clean and large enough to swim in or just to lay on a tube and soak up the sun. A short walk from the condo brought us to a white sand beach that was perfect for walking, sitting or splashing in the waves. The condo came with beach chairs, umbrella and cooler - everything we could want to enjoy the spectacular view. It was also a short walk into Playa which we did frequently. Gillian was so helpful in answering all our questions before we left and Chris, the condo manager, was helpful while we were in Mexico. Playa itself was a lovely place to visit. It felt very safe, it was easy to get around both on foot and using taxis - we never felt the need for a car. The food was excellent from the cheap and tasty tacos directly across the street from the Mega grocery store to the more upscale options along 5th Avenue, a pedestrian shopping and eating area closed to vehicles for many, many blocks. We've been to a number of places in Mexico but this was our first time in Playa. We will be back."

  • Excellent family dive trip

"Our family of 4 adults stayed here on a recent dive trip to Cozumel. We enjoyed this house very much. The pictures on the website let us know exactly what to expect. It was relaxing, and comfortable like staying at someones weekend cottage. We found this rental an excellent value. The house is located in a regular neighborhood. The furnishings are comfortable with all the items that we needed. We enjoyed shopping and eating locally. It was nice to have our breakfast and one additional meal at the house. This allowed us to keep within our budget. One meal each day we dined out, alternating between restaurants that the locals patronize and the upscale restaurants for tourists. All were wonderful. Walking to shopping and restaurants was easy and safe. But we are all healthy, strong individuals and we were not out very late. We went diving 5 out of the 7 days on the island. Having the space in the house and on the porch was wonderful. We could spread out our equipment to dry and still have room to relax. We rented a small car to allow us the ability to visit other places on the island. This was a great and we enjoyed site seeing. We also drove to the dive boat each day. Parking the car was a challenge because of the typically narrow street and multiple vehicles parked in the area. The locals that we met were very friendly. We really enjoyed staying at this house. It made a dive trip for our family affordable and relaxing. We would certainly stay here again."

  • gorgeous apartment and wonderful area

"We stayed early September. Place was very clean and beds are super comfortable. The place is gorgeous. Magda, the property manager, provided an extra mattress for our little one and made us feel welcome. She also showed us how to watch shows in English and replaced a faulty coffee maker the next day. The pool is gorgeous and property well maintained. My husband loved the tennis courts. It's really about a 20 minute walk to Playa del carmen but taxis are frequent and inexpensive especially in the heat of day. We would definitely come back. Some minor area of improvements would be for the owner to equip the penthouse with a shaded area and some furniture. Currently, it's just 2 chairs and somewhat of a wasted space. If you want extra maid service other than the weekly, you should book a few days ahead as they're not always available . Also, it would be nice to have extra toilet paper, shampoo/conditioner samples provided. If you are more than 4 people, the Reef club, is extremely strict on have 1 'pass' for every 4 people. I would ask for the passes in advance as to not waste anytime. They're also strict on 9am-5pm and wouldn't allow me to walk through property so I could access the beach for a morning run."

  • Comfortable, casual elegance

"After two idyllic weeks here, my husband and I wished we could stay longer. This beautiful condo has everything for comfort and enjoyment. We slept well in the comfy bed and enjoyed cooking in the well-appointed kitchen. With balconies on both sides of the unit, we could choose sun or shade almost anytime of the day. Wifi and satellite TV worked perfectly (a first for us, after many stays in the region). Laundry facilities were a nice convenience that enabled us to pack lighter. The busy season hadn't started yet, so we had the spectacular pool to ourselves. This property has gated off-street parking, but we chose not to rent a car. Many delightful restaurants and the town square are a short walk away, and the well-stocked Chedraui supermarket is a quick, inexpensive taxi ride. Throughout our planning for this trip, Anne was absolutely lovely to correspond with. During our stay, Ramon and his staff were terrific, responding right away when minor issues came up. From start to finish, our entire experience was excellent."
