  • Nice Place, Great Staff, Great Views

"Great get away. Bring you water shoes, the beach entrance is very rocky and rough."

  • Incredible House and location

"We were very pleased with our experience at this house and in Akumal. The house is exactly as it appears on the pictures and description. There are many spaces to either be together or have private time. There was a maid and groundskeeper that came in everyday, except Sunday. We wish it has a washer and dryer but that was probably the only amenity that it lacked. 3 bedrooms are in the main house and there is a little casita for the 4th bedroom. It is a great small space with its own kitchen. As long as you have older kids or couples it works very well, it is at the end of the driveway. You can walk down the beach to the restaurants, our favorite was La Buena Vida. It has a good beach, pool and outdoor seating. You could enjoy a white sand beach and food and drink. Yal Ku, a 5 min walk, is also well worth the snorkeling. We bought passes on two separate days and just went back and forth to the house. Kitchen is well quipped. It was very windy while we were there so having the pool located not on the ocean side was a huge benefit. Good snorkeling right off the house if the wind is not too high. Bring water shoes! They were great for the coral lined water. I would also highly recommend Xel-Ha. It is an all inclusive daytime eco park. We had ages 3, 5, 9, 12 and 4 adults with us and we all had a great time. It is very close 15 min. We rented a car in Cancun and it was very easy to drive around. We also did Tulum and Coba in the same day with the older kids. We started in Coba, I recommend renting the bikes they offer. Then had a great lunch at the first restaurant as you leave the parking area. We then went over to Tulum for the second half of the day. The Dolphin Experience was also wonderful. A little pricey but was wonderfully done. All in all it is a location and a house I would go back to!"

  • Perfect Mellow Beach Vacation

"We stayed at Casa Playa Maya for a week. The house was comfortable and the beach was uncrowded and peaceful. The house was exactly as seen in the pictures and the beds were very comfortable. Everything was clean and the very friendly caretakers are there for any questions or needs. The beach was wonderful, hardly any people and those that lived there were easy going. The water was beautiful, super clear and great for swimming. The shoreline has some rocks, coral and reef grass so water shoes would be helpful. The snorkeling was best as you get closer to the reef break. You can swim or take the paddle boards or kayaks that are always available and in great condition. We saw sea turtles every day, found conch shells, saw a sting ray and colorful fish near the reef. The restaurant down the beach is an easy walk, has great seafood (amazing ceviche) and a perfect atmosphere with tables under the palms by the water. You can go in your bathing suit. We stayed at the house with my college age kids and my mom and we were all very happy at the house. The local Cenotes are really cool to explore and the downtown Tulum is 8 minutes away by car and a fun place to eat and shop. Everyone is really friendly and we always felt safe, even at night. In fact, Lois the caretaker found my mom's necklace and contacted us for its return - we never used the safe in the house. The only small complaint we had at the house is that the water pressure in both showers was really low, but it was hot :) They provide fresh drinking water. We really enjoyed our stay and would go back again, everyone involved in the rental was honest and helpful."

  • perfectly smooth vacation celebration

"every detail was perfect. A natural paradise made even more lovely by the architecture and minimally chic home decor. I am a designer and these kinds of details do not go unnoticed. The staff was so warm and friendly. They were a joy to get to know and seemed happy to be doing what they do and doing it well. The food...oh the food was over the top amazing. A feast of meats, sauces, tropical fruit, veggies, seafood, and soups. Dinner served on a breezy patio with full service and a perfect ambiance. Some of our group landed in nearby hammocks after meals. This trip exceeded even my high expectations. We rented out 2 houses right next to each other and our group of 12 was amazed."
