  • Playa Caribe #5 is fanatastic!

"Playa Caribe #5 is a beautiful, well equipped and maintained accommodation on Half Moon Bay. We recently spent a week there and Annie is very easy to work with and has so much information to offer to make your stay in the Akumal area that much more enjoyable. The staff is very helpful and Agustin, the on site property manager, is tremendous. We had a great trip! We were able to snorkel everyday. We saw turtles, manta ray, sting ray, and many beautiful fish! The first 5 minutes we went out we saw a sting ray who spooked my daughter a little. The 2nd day the water was rough, so we went to Yal Ku lagoon which was a good place to get Delilah more comfortable in the water. We rented bikes right at Playa Caribe which was fun too! One day we went to Akumal bay and snorkeled. Lots of tourists and turtles! I'm glad they are trying to protect that area because it is crowded. We also went to Cenotes Rancho Santa Cruz...highly recommend! It was private, beautiful, and close to Playa Caribe. The rest of the days the ocean was much calmer and we snorkeled out front. A turtle built a nest right in front of the condo while we were there! Of course it was the one night I didn't wake up constantly to see if there were any turtles. A lady staying there saw it and of course took pictures with her flash....upsetting. We also saw a lady rip off one of those beautiful coral leafs! 😢 As far as local restaurants we liked La Buena Vida the best, as well as La Cueva de la Pescadora. Thanks for a great trip and information!"

  • Amazing time in Cozumel

"My family and I rented both villas for around a week. The place is very beautiful and the villas extremely clean, well taken care of, comfortable and more spacious than they look. Staff was super friendly and helpful with every request we had. Chankanaab is walking distance and right at the beach in front of the property you can do snorkeling, or be picked up for scuba diving trips. You can have a whole vacation without even needing to leave the villas!"

  • Paradise on earth

"This was easily the best vacation place I have ever been to. You will wake up, open the sliding doors to the balcony and wonder why you live in a city. The perfect breeze all day long, the perfect beach to soak up some rays (with private section for privacy and nice umbrellas), and the perfect town to grab drinks and great food. This town is untouched by obnoxious corporations on every corner -- it's the real deal. If you go into the town, there is a man named Jesus at a travel center that will give you a great deal on fun adventures -- Isla de Mujeres is supposed to be incredible, but they also have ziplines, RV's, etc. Do yourself a favor -- BOOK NOW."

  • Easy Living on the Malecon

"We were lucky enough to find this little gem for a week here in September. Richard and his wife are gracious hosts and their location can't be beat along the Malecon(boardwalk). So nice to stay in your "own" place and not be part of the hotel room/condo scene. Although I never found the lime squeezer, this apartment has everything (including ample drinking water) necessary for a relaxing stay. Need to mention the rooftop palapa with lounging area provided awesome views and great ocean breezes. We came to do some scuba diving in the area and conditions were perfect for trips to Banco Chinchorro and Xcalak with Mahahual Dive Centre. Along with local reef dives, this place makes a perfect diving vacation spot. Great empandas and burritos are available just downstairs at Nam, Nam (open until 11pm) and we couldn't stop going back to the Nacional Beach Club (just south on the Malecon) for great breakfasts and then great ceviche, tuna poki, steaks and grilled octopus for lunch and dinner time. There are so many great little spots for food and drinks, my advice is to just get out, walk the town and explore. We will definitely be checking back with Richard for our next visit to Mahahual, which needs to be soon :-)"
