  • WOW!!!! Is Simply Not Enough

"Amazing, Spectacular, Phenomenal.... all these words can not do justice to this property. It went far and above our expectations. We had the most relaxing vacation stay of our lives (and we travel a lot!). Our days consisted of waking around 9 am to a beautiful ocean front view and wonderful cooling breezes. After breakfast our day consisted of laying in hammocks in the shade, walking the pristine beach and snorkeling! The most amazing snorkeling in the Caribbean is literally out your front door. We saw tons, and tons of beautifully colored fish, squid, starfish, barracuda and so much more. In the evening we would relax on the roof top deck with cool drinks .. watching the gorgeous sunset and simply soaking in the tranquility of being at Casa Del Sol! A couple of side notes / "tips". When someone makes the recommendation to shop for groceries before you get there -- do it! There is next to nothing available in town. That said, a local farmer drives by 2-3 times per week with fresh fruit and vegetables (the best you will ever get!), eggs and fish/chicken. Although, availability is never guaranteed. We purchased water and soap -- these items were provided. Be ready to relax! There are several wonderful restaurants but as far as traditional night life goes... not so much."

  • Terrific House

"We spent the last week in October 2016 at this beautiful house. We flew into Cancun, rented a car and spent our first night in Puerto Morales. The next day we drove to Tulum, exchanged our money and stocked up on groceries then drove to the Reef House. We had good, paved roads all the way to Xcalak and felt completely safe. Reef house is a short drive from Xcalak on a well maintained dirt road. Total driving time from Cancun to the Reef House took us about 5 1/2 hours, but it is a beautiful drive with lots to see. The house is great and exactly as described. Spacious, clean, comfortable with beautiful views right on the water. You need to bring groceries, tin foil, paper towels, etc., but the kitchen is well stocked with all the dishes and cooking utensils. We did not use it, but i believe there is a BBQ on property. Bring charcoal. A very nice housekeeper cleans the house each morning. This house is solar powered so leave your blow dryer and curling iron at home. There is no air conditioning in the house, but we did not need it. Between the ocean breezes and ceiling fans we were fine and we never had an issue with power. The house does have good internet service. The bedrooms and bathrooms are well equipped with linens, soap and TP. the house comfortably sleeps six, more if someone wants to sleep on the couch in the living room. There are kayaks and paddle boards available for guests to use. We brought our own snorkel gear and used the kayaks to reach the reef, which is close. We loved it! Saw stingrays, eels and numerous colorful fish. The best part of the house is that it comes with Ben and Esther who went over and above to make our stay wonderful. Ben helped arrange fishing trips, knew all the restaurants and where to snorkel. He checked on us regularly and made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. We loved our time at Reef House. Thanks Ben and Esther."

  • Most relaxing vacation ever!

"We spent a week here and couldn't be more satisfied. The beach and water were beautiful, great snorkeling, able to walk along the beach as far as you'd like. The accommodations were spacious and clean and Rob and his staff very hospitable. We had plans for some day trips but it was too nice to leave and do anything else. The restaurants in town had amazing food and the random food delivery available at the Inn included fruits and vegetables, fish, lobsters, and even desserts (cakes, cheesecakes). Morning lattes prepared by Rob provided a nice opportunity for visiting with the other guests in the palapa and sharing stories and experiences. I would recommend a stay to anyone looking for relaxation and getting away from it all."
