  • Wonderful Stay

"We had a wonderful time. Rosalie and Don are great hosts. The house was spacious and well appointed. The beach was outside the front door. it was only 15 minutes to town. I recommend a car to enjoy the area, but it is not necessary."

  • Beautiful property in the residential district to experience Isla as it is!

"We absolutely enjoyed our week long stay at Casa Perla. The place is immaculate and all of the previous reviews proved true! Morris came up to meet us, as we arrived an hour late. Morris didn't have to help us, he proved to be a genuine good man and was very helpful throughout our stay. Casa Perla is located in a residential district. I mean to say if you aren't comfortable will a lower economic neighborhood, you may be nervous. There are quite a number of street dogs running around. We could hear the nieghbor yelling at his wife in Spanish most nights until late. There was a wedding reception on the street and they partied until 2:00 a.m. playing loud music and dancing! We loved it!!! A truly authentic and real life experience, not a sheltered and caged stay in a resort! We went to different restaurants every day, all over the island. We walked to the corner store at night to buy snacks, and shopped at Chedraui for our groceries. We have vacationed in Mexico a dozen times, been to Grand Cayman, Cozumel, Isla Roatan, Belize and loved our stay at Casa Perla! We found the residents on the island to be friendly, helpful and good people. We enjoyed the vendors downtown on Thursday nights, Playa Norte, Punta Sur, the turtle farm and walking centro! Having the golf cart is a must!!! The owner was honest, quick and helpful. We found everything to be just as described. Our neighbors next door were scared the whole time, foolishly. Just understand that this isn't a gated resort in a wealthy area. This is a beautiful condo in an economically depressed neighborhood full of good Mexican families. We enjoyed all of it, from loud Mexican Archie Bunker to Mango Cafe! We even went the better part of a day and a half with no electricity on the island and had no problems! A great location if you are comfortable around the people. We had no complaints and will be back! I'm just sharing our experience to "keep it real"...don't read into it at all. God bless! M"
