  • Comfortable and beautiful

"I was nervous to book a place I'd never seen, especially a condo where so many things could go wrong. We picked PDC as a spot to bring our two adult children and our 7 year old for all the obvious reasons. The question was: how do we all stay together? I obsessed over finding a three bedroom condo with a pool on the ocean. In fact I basically obsessed so much that places in my top 5 were getting rented. Luna Encantada looked great and we just decided to go for it. First, booking through Susan was basically booming through the US. It was a concern that we would show up and something wouldn't be right or there would be a bait and switch of some sort. But the booking was easy and simple and perfect. Second, the location of the condo right on the water is no joke. I'm typing on my phone from the balcony looking over the pool and listening to the waves. It seems like a small pool in the photos compared to the mega resorts but it's quite large and was perfect for our 7 year to run back and forth to the beach. The water is 3.5 feet deep all around. There are 17 people in the pool right now (most of the last two weeks there have been 0-4 people in the pool). We are one third of a block to 5th street and all restaurants and shops and about 3/10s of a mile to Walmart for all groceries. It's a 70 peso cab ride back with a full load. The staff at the condo is friendly. The AC blows cold. The Wifi is pretty strong (spotty at times). Some people complained about no American TV. We signed into our Netflix account on the smart TV on day 4 or 5 and that gave us some veg out time. The beds are all comfortable. Both bathrooms are great. This place is well worth the cost and I can't imagine staying anywhere else. In fact, I can't imagine vacationing anywhere else. I'm a little sad to be heading home at this point but I suppose we gotta get back to work to pay for the next trip, A couple of additional notes: 1) with our 7 year old we would probably get a ground floor room next time to walk out to the pool. 2) other than using the gas grill and a couple of times with the kids in the hammock we didn't use the penthouse deck that was so important to me. 3) there are several unrelated families here who seem to know each other from previous trips and I really like that. The 7 year old found another little girl to play with and, as that is one of our biggest challenges on vacation where adults want to just relax and she wants attention, that had been great."

  • Solomon Bay Stay

"Our stay at Soliman Bay in Villa MarCaribe included six couples in our thirties. We each had our own bedroom and attached bathroom. We would highly highly recommend going with the chef services. Not only is it cost-effective but the food is excellent. Our chefs Guillermo and Miguel were amazing. They prepared three Mexican-style meals per day. We chose the menu the day prior. They were also willing to mix a cocktail of the day for us. We were extremely happy with this service and again would like to recommend it. If you are someone who enjoys excellent-quality food than there is no doubt that you should choose this service in order to eat great local food without spending an astronomical amount at local restaurants. If you love teal, warm ocean water with amazing views and top-notch accommodations; relaxing beach strolls; water sports and pool or ocean swimming than this is your place. Nancy, the owner in CA was easy to work with and the caretakers are onsite and responsive to our requests. Cheers and hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did!"

  • Playa Caribe #5 is fanatastic!

"Playa Caribe #5 is a beautiful, well equipped and maintained accommodation on Half Moon Bay. We recently spent a week there and Annie is very easy to work with and has so much information to offer to make your stay in the Akumal area that much more enjoyable. The staff is very helpful and Agustin, the on site property manager, is tremendous. We had a great trip! We were able to snorkel everyday. We saw turtles, manta ray, sting ray, and many beautiful fish! The first 5 minutes we went out we saw a sting ray who spooked my daughter a little. The 2nd day the water was rough, so we went to Yal Ku lagoon which was a good place to get Delilah more comfortable in the water. We rented bikes right at Playa Caribe which was fun too! One day we went to Akumal bay and snorkeled. Lots of tourists and turtles! I'm glad they are trying to protect that area because it is crowded. We also went to Cenotes Rancho Santa Cruz...highly recommend! It was private, beautiful, and close to Playa Caribe. The rest of the days the ocean was much calmer and we snorkeled out front. A turtle built a nest right in front of the condo while we were there! Of course it was the one night I didn't wake up constantly to see if there were any turtles. A lady staying there saw it and of course took pictures with her flash....upsetting. We also saw a lady rip off one of those beautiful coral leafs! 😢 As far as local restaurants we liked La Buena Vida the best, as well as La Cueva de la Pescadora. Thanks for a great trip and information!"

  • Such a great location!

"This spacious condo is in a great location in Playa. The bedrooms offered lots of storage and plenty of room to spread out. The enclosed patio was a great spot to keep all of our beach / snorkel gear. The construction next door made it less serene that it might have otherwise been. The kitchen included most anything you might need including a coffee pot, blender and microwave. We did have a few minor issues - the ceiling fan in the guest room shorted out so was not available for use and the washer and dryer - which are shown in the pictures - did not work. Since that was one of the reasons we selected this condo, that was a disappointment. The on site manger was wonderful and very available. Also we found the owner to be responsive to emails. Overall, it is a great spot and we'd certainly enjoy a trip back!"
