  • Beautiful, relaxing beach cabana!

"Our family of 5 (2 adults, children ages 13-18) just returned from a 4 week adventure traveling around the Yucatan Peninsula. The first leg of our adventure was a 6-night stay at Casita Dragonfly. If you want to relax and get away from it all, stay at Casita Dragonfly! We spent hours snorkeling, kayaking, and reading on the wonderful palapa porch (with a constant breeze blowing that kept any mosquitos at bay and ensured a wonderful temperature.) Casita Dragonfly sits right on the beach, steps away from the ocean. You need not put on a pair of shoes while there as the property sits right on the sand - although there is enough vegetation that not once did we have sand blowing around. Although the house has wifi, we enjoyed staying unplugged for the most part. Fans and screened windows kept us cool at night, the kitchen is equipped with all you'll need, and there are plenty of tables and chairs spread throughout the house and on the porch so that you're never far away from a place to sip a cool drink and read a good book. We were interested in snorkeling the reef, which is accessible from the beach - a very long swim, but more easily accessed by the kayaks the property provides. Our first two outings to the reef were amazing, flat water and wonderful visibility - sting ray, manta ray, tropical fish, beautiful coral. After those days, it got windy which made the porch even more comfortable, but made snorkeling impossible - instead, we took the kayaks out for long trips, where we were lucky enough to spot a sea turtle and a family of manatees. The town of Mahahual is a 30 minute drive for restaurants and basic necessities, but we preferred to stay at the Casita and away from the cruise ship crowds. While at the Casita, the only other people we ever saw were the wonderfully kind caretakers who checked in daily to make sure we had enough drinking water and that the cistern was full. The owners of the Casita have decorated it with many little touches that make the house extremely comfortable and special. There are colorful, decorative pillows all over and several options for lounging (a hanging bed, a lounge bed in the sun, a hammock and many lounge chairs - both on the porch and on the beach). The five of us had plenty of space to sleep and spread out. The property would also be perfect for two couples to share as there are two distinct sleeping areas/bathrooms-one upstairs, one downstairs. Extremely helpful are the detailed instructions provided by owners."

  • Dream House for a Dream Vacation

"Beautiful place, huge house and relaxing vacation. Our stay here was so relaxing and also so wonderful with the delicious meals. Some of us hung around the house almost the entire week and others went exploring, snorkeling, kayaking and to the ruins. We walked the beach, swam in the warm water and had a lot of room for all of us. There were 12 in our group. We wanted to take Lily and the other staff home with us. They are just one of the reasons why we loved this house. It is decorated lovely and has everything that you will need including the beach towels. I’m sure we will return to this house again."

  • Great Family Option in PDC

"Our family of six (2 teenagers, 2 parents and 2 grandparents) recently stayed at the Peregrina Condo for the Christmas holidays. We would most certainly recommend this property to anyone considering staying in Playa del Carmen. Having three spacious bedrooms, all with plenty of storage space (lots of hangers too!) as well as ensuite bathrooms in all three was ideal. We appreciated having the full kitchen to enjoy breakfasts and lunches as well as serving up drinks and pre-dinner snacks. The upstairs terrace was lovely to have and we even ate our Christmas dinner up there. The location is very good - close to the Mega grocery store, three blocks to 5th Avenue, restaurants everywhere and a reasonable walk to the beach. It was also very easy to catch a taxi two blocks over on the main street to get to any of our excursions as was the bus station and (although a bit further) the collectivo station. The two main floor bedrooms do face out on to a bit of a busier street so if you like to sleep with your patio door open, this may bother you. With the hurricane shutters closed and AC on, it was not noticeable. This property is exactly as advertised and it is great value for the amount of space you get. The owner is fantastic to deal with and although we did have one small hiccup with the management team, they did ensure our potable water was always replenished, gas for the BBQ full and condo cleaned on the date and time specified. If you are considering this condo as an option, we would recommend it."

  • Hard to come home after the SPECTACULAR stay at C1

"I had high expectations of this VRBO and it not only met but exceeded them. A few steps to the infinity pool & beach. Everything we requested was provided before we arrived. Food, drinks, etc. The entire team at Luna Encantada with extremely attentive & welcoming. Steps away from a cab, massage, cafes, and of course shopping. We even had a sweet little street cat come and visit us through-out our stay that I named 'Carmen' She comes and gets her belly full, and lot's of lovin then back to the street. We'll be back with more family in tow to enjoy this incredible place called Playa del Carmen."
