  • Beautiful well kept property in a great location.

"Open concept kitchen, dining and living room offers spectacular views of the outdoor living area, pool and ocean. Can ride around the village with the 2 bicycles that are there or take one of the kayaks out. Gonzalo the caretaker lives on the property with his wife Olivia and looks after keeping thing's clean and maintained. Any problems he can't look after he will get someone. Loved lying in the hammock under the palm tree's listening to the waves. The beach in the area took a beating in a January storm but the owner took steps to improve it and it has gotten better. The friendly people of Chicxulub and the many expats keep us coming back."

  • A fine place to stay in the historic section of Merida

"We rented this casa with another couple for the month of February. The accommodation was perfect for two couples with plenty of space inside and out. The kitchen is well-equipped and the sitting areas are airy and bright. The bedrooms which are at opposite ends of the house are spacious and comfortable. There are two full bathrooms and one 2 piece bathroom but no tub. The plunge pool is a wonderful asset to this property. We made good use of it. There were a few issues that arose during our stay but they were addressed promptly by Irving and his staff. The quality of the bed linens could be improved and a greater supply of towels, tea towels and dish cloths would be appreciated. There is a large utility room with a washer but no dryer. There are clotheslines. We were not aware in advance that there would be an extra charge for hydro. That bill would be substantial if you used air conditioning. We found that the overhead fans were more than adequate for keeping the space cool. We recommended to Irving that the contract that we signed be available in English as well as Spanish. As Canadians we were irked to have to pay in American dollars. This home is well-located in terms of walking distance to main attractions in Merida - Parque Santa Lucia, Paseo de Montejo, Plaza Grande and many fine restaurants. We didn't have a car and didn't feel that we needed one."
