  • Awesome house with superb customer service

"The house is spacious and beautifully decorated with high ceilings and an authentic taste of Merida. My family enjoyed the spacious rooms, beautiful grounds and well appointed kitchen. The management was outstanding and super responsive to our questions and issues were immediately addressed. The location was perfect for sightseeing and in a safe area of the city. The house was very clean and well maintained. It is within walking distance of the historic Cathedral area with tons of great shopping and restaurants. We would definitely love to stay here again!"

  • Mellow Yellow

"This house was exceptional. The pictures do not do it justice! I cannot speak for my kids, but our king bed was very comfortable. The house was spacious and had everything we needed for our stay. Both bedrooms have glass patio doors, the master leading to the pool/beach and the second on to the courtyard. The courtyard was lovely and sheltered from the wind (as it was very windy at times). Our kids loved playing on the beach, which we had to ourselves for the most part and has a very easy slope into the ocean. We were able to head way out into the water and it was still only at our thighs with a nice sandy bottom. The pool was perfect for cooling off and lounging. We rented a car and were able to see the nearby ruins, head in to Progreso for groceries or dinner and zip around as needed. I would highly recommend flying to Merida and not Cancun like we did! We were extremely happy with our stay and would suggest this rental to anyone looking for a quiet place to relax and unwind."

  • Wonderful Family Vacation!!

"Our family vacation was spent at Villa Mercedes 2 for four weeks this spring (Feb-Mar) and we thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience! Right from our first contact to the last our experience with Tony was exceptional; he was very friendly, professional, and helpful and was prompt to respond! The very large home was exactly as pictured with an extra set of clean bedding & towels for each guest. When you walk into the home you can see straight through to the pool, palm trees, white sandy beach, and right through to the Gulf of Mexico, it was very beautiful! The village of Chicxulub was exactly what we were hoping for, ‘Old Mexico’, not commercialized at all!! We found a few good restaurants in the village and also in Progreso which was only a 7 minute drive away or just buy fish from a local fisherman or fresh prawns from the gentlemen who stopped by the house ever couple days and cook in your own kitchen! At the north end of Merida there is a Costco for those who like to stock up, perishables can easily be purchased in either Chicxulub or Progreso. Apparently, there is over 5000 Cenotes in the area, a definite must to take in a few if you are in the Yucatan, they are breathtaking! Along with a tour of at least one of the ancient Mayan ruins, absolutely incredible! Visiting Merida & Uman along with eating fresh coconuts poolside were additional highlights of our trip! All in all a Great Vacation slowing down, enjoying the sun, sand and water! We hope to return again in the future!! Thank you again Tony for sharing our families vacation home with us!"

  • Great location, great house, great service

"We stayed in this lovely house for 5 nights while travelling round the Yucatan peninsula, and couldn't have chosen a better place to stay. The location is excellent, walkable to the local squares, shops, restaurants, etc. There is a fabulous ice cream parlour just a 2 minute walk down the road. Although a car is not needed in Merida, we were travelling so had a hire car which enabled us to have day trips to Cuzuma cenotes (excellent directions provided in the house) and Celestum to see the flamingos. I note someone else commented on difficulties with the garage entrance being blocked and I must say we didn't have any problems with this at all. Access was never a problem and it was very easy to reverse out on to the street. Excellent service was provided with booking, payment, local activity information etc. We were greeted on arrival and made very welcome. All communication was very quick and efficient. Two specific points- firstly the second bedroom is across the courtyard and separate from the main house but very private, secure and enclosed. This suited us fine as enabled our 2 grown up daughters to have a bit of space from us parents! Secondly, in response to a comment Jane made under another review 'Parque St Lucia ... where there are wonderful restaurants and shops, and Yucatan dances performed on a Thursday night and Sunday lunch time'. We stayed Thursday to Tuesday and this square, a few minutes walk away, was fabulous. Local dances, local mayan ball game, so atmospheric that I would highly recommend trying to include Thursday and Sunday in any stay if at all possible. This was our favourite place in Mexico, very friendly, plenty to do but not necessarily on the usual tourist route especially for europeans- we met no other visitors from the UK while there. A must for experiencing the wonderful mexican lifestyle, food and hospitality. Would love to return and nowhere better to stay in Merida. Will certainly recommend to friends and family."
