  • Beautiful, Comfortable, Relaxing Accommodations

"Susan and Doug's condo was absolutely perfect! Better than what is shown in the pictures. Having come to Mexico for some rest and relaxation after 9 days of difficult and exhausting hiking in the Peruvian Andies was excellent. I very much appreciated the comfortable bed, the shades to keep the room dark and cool so I could catch up on some desperately needed sleep, the quiet of a mostly residential neighborhood and the feeling of home was so much welcomed. The condo was also larger than I had expected. The location is one block from the north end of 5th Avenue and just one block from the pristine Caribbean ocean with the white sand beaches. We took a swim a couple of nights in the rooftop pool while listening to the thunder roar and the lightening flash in the sky (but no rain). We had the pool all to ourselves, which added an element of romanticism. My brother joined us a few days after we arrived and reported that the bed in the second bedroom was also super comfy. Both bedrooms had private full bathrooms in addition to a 1/2 bath in the common space. There were ample beach towels, snorkeling gear, bath towels, etc. We found nothing lacking. The kitchen was well appointed - though we only cooked breakfast, it definitely had everything we needed, including a very good blender for making some homemade pina-coladas made with fresh pineapple and local ingredients. The WalMart is a short $3 taxi ride away. We stocked up on beverages and breakfast items to last the days we were there. The air conditioners worked beautifully, as did everything else in the condo. In addition, Deanni, the property manager was extremely responsive. I'd email her for an extra set of keys for my brother, additional water, anything and she would respond almost immediately - such GREAT service. We were very sad to have to leave - but will be back! Thank you, thank you!"

  • Absolute Paradise

"We just got back from our stay at this amazing property. This was by far the most incredible property we have ever stayed at and cannot wait to go back and see it again. We were a family of 7 staying for a full week. We had 5 adults and one teenager and at no point did we feel cramped in the condo. The apartment actually feels much bigger than the pictures are able to show. The ocean views are unobstructed on the top terrace allowing you to fully take in the paradise. We did cook at the apartment and all the appliances worked great. The owner ensured that you have all the basics like oil, vinegar, salt, pepper and such so all you need from the store is your produce and proteins. Also, they provided other basics such as dish soap, laundry detergent, dishwasher soap, filtered water - all the things you would normally have at home that you now do not have to buy in bulk for a short stay. Outside the gorgeous apartment, what really made our stay a 5-star experience was the staff. The concierge and the daily complex staff were extremely nice and helpful. They went above and beyond to ensure each guest was happy and had what they needed for their comfort. Our family walked up and down the beach and each time confirmed that there is no better property than this one while staying at Playa del Carmen. The condo is gated with a code to get in so only the guests staying there are able to access the property and pool area. The walk from your complex to the 5th avenue is maybe 30 seconds tops! I don't know of any other travels I have done where you have the downtown center that close to your apartment and the beach. We rented a car one day to visit Yucatan and Chichen Itza, however, if you are staying just in Playa, you will not need a car as everything is walking distance and feels very safe. If you are looking more to see other towns 45+ minutes away, I would recommend a car. All in all, our favorite vacation so far and the best stay we have ever had. Thank you so much to the owner and property manager. We are so grateful to have stayed there and cannot wait to go back. Seriously, we already started planning our next family visit. THANK YOU!!! :)"

  • College Graduation Celebration!!!

"Beautiful! The condo, resort, beach and pool all delightful. The scenery was gorgeous! Our condo had 3 balconies all ocean views. We were a party of 6 celebrating two of them graduating college. Had a blast! The condo was beautiful and spacious - just lovely. The beds were comfortable and I loved that each room had its own thermostat. :) The beach and water were so clean and pretty... loved swimming in the ocean. We had designated chairs and umbrellas for us to use as part of the resort. A beach house for food and drinks. The pool was clean and spectacular in size. We felt like we had a section of the pool all to ourselves. It was huge!!! The people everywhere were courteous and nice. We had a personal concierge and she was well organized and attentive - thanks Deborah! You were great to work with! The town was quaint and friendly. Lots of restaurants and little shops including a mall a few blocks from us. We enjoyed Joya - highly recommend seeing this. Visited the Rivera Mayan Ruins and Xel-Ha and enjoyed both. There is many things to do or beautiful sceneries to just relax. It had it all. The owner was excellent at responding quickly to any questions. All in all it was a very nice trip."

  • Fantastic accommodation and unbeatable view

"If you are looking for a peaceful relaxing vacation then this is the place for you. The property is really well maintained. This unit is on the third floor and looks out over palm trees to the ocean. The view and sound of the waves is unbeatable. The condo is quite a walk from town if you are carrying groceries. There are no restaurants nearby so if you aren't cooking then you will need to go into town everyday. There is a wide variety of restaurants in town and we enjoyed our meals out. We walked back to the condo most nights after dinner. If you plan on doing the same then bring a flashlight. Taxis are plentiful and cost around 50 pesos. The kitchen is well equipped with microwave, stove, fridge, and oven. There are lots of dishes, glassware, and pots so you are able to make your own meals. There is even a small charcoal BBQ on the balcony. We snorkelled from the beach and saw some small schools of fish. The water was a bit murky from the sand being stirred up by the waves. Our best experience snorkelling was from the public beach in town. Frank and Sherry (the owners) were great to deal with and responded quickly when we didn't have water. The small staff on site were available and easy to work with when we needed water and when the wifi went down. Overall we would highly recommend this VRBO. Chris and Laurianne"
