  • A nice condo in Playa

"The unit is accurately described in the listing, and the owner and local manager were responsive to a few very minor issues that came up. The owner’s method of receiving payments directly by Visa is trustworthy. The kitchen is well equipped, the AC was very good, the beds are very comfortable, TV was fine and the wireless internet was the best I’ve encountered in Mexico and about as good as you can hope for there. The location is excellent: a 10-15 min. walk to the beach and 5 min. walk to the many restaurants on 5th Ave, however the best and cheapest were all a block or two off 5th. The nice balcony off the dining area that overlooks the pool was great for morning coffee, but can be a bit uncomfortable when there are people sitting on the balcony in front of it. However the real gem of the unit is the large and completely private rooftop terrace. There are a couple of good lounge chairs, and there is both sun and shade on it virtually all day. The tub on it is a hydro-tub, i.e. a large 1-person bathtub with jets. The pool area and grounds are very clean and well maintained. The pool is quite large and there are 10 lounge chairs around it. We were almost always able to get lounge chairs although a few times it was the last 1 or 2, however we were there in high season when likely all units were occupied. A few more chairs would help but, if worse comes to worst you can always have a dip in the pool and then head up to the private rooftop terrace. Entry requires climbing 2 flights of stairs which might be a challenge for people with mobility issues. The building was very quite, with most of the units occupied by retired couples. There is a large balcony off one bedroom and a small one off the other, however they both look out onto the street and there is little reason to ever use them. This brings up the only real problem with the unit: there is a major construction project going on across the street starting at 7AM. While the noise didn’t bother us too much (mainly because, unbelievably, they were using almost no power equipment) there were a few short very noisy periods. Unfortunately, there is nothing the owner or anyone else can do about this, so check with him on this if you’re sensitive to construction noise. Hopefully this will end in several months. Our electricity charge was US$30/wk, though we used very little AC. My only other suggestion: the small sofa in the living room is in great need of replacement."

  • Beautiful, comfortable condo, ideal for family with young children

"Our family is wrapping up a fabulous week on Half Moon Bay. This unit is tastefully decorated and has every amenity we could have wanted. We especially appreciated the children's sized life jackets, pool noodles and boogie boards, perfect for our kids to play in the water and use snorkeling. There were also several pairs of adult fins which was great as I didn't bring my own pair (husband did). The beds were quite possibly the best part. They are firm mattresses but feel like clouds thanks to the memory foam topper. Even our kids said it was the best they'd slept in a long time. The kitchen is small but well-stocked with good quality cooking items so we were able to cook quite a few of our own meals. We also enjoyed several meals at Buena Vida up the beach, where they have an even larger swimming pool than Lol Kanaab, a fun alternative for our kids when the bay got too rough and the condo pool lost its luster (a very nice pool but small). We all loved snorkeling in Half Moon Bay our first day, when visibility was perfect and the water was glassy calm, but the winds picked up after that and it was too rough. We snorkeled instead at Yal-ku up the road and another day in Akumal Bay, which was also rough but clear enough to see quite a few sea turtles. Sandra was always very responsive with our questions and provides a nice folder of local information in the condo, which was very useful. We hope to return to enjoy this gorgeous, tranquil spot again soon."

  • Resort style in the comfort of home

"This house is located in a quiet area with its own beach, pool and dock for water activities. The house is large and allows two small families their own peace a quiet when needed. Comfortable and located a few feet from the beach, pool and the beautiful Caribbean. The staff is fantastic and will help you arrange any fun activities you want. The local chef prepared 4 meals for us and all were delicious and affordable. Located about 15 minutes from town, you can rent a car and have a safe place to park it. Arriving with groceries..no problem, the staff will use a golf cart to bring the bags to the house. Amber, Patty and Rodrigo are fantastic and will make your stay a great vacation!"

  • Wonderful, awesome beautiful!!

"This condo was wonderful. Clean, beautiful right on the first floor infront of the pool, with a view of the beach. The patio is shaded through out the day. We were just a short walk away from the center of town, restaurants and shops. The mgr, cece is so winderful and helpful as was the owner. Our family had a wonderful time and will definitely reserve this condo again. Thank you michelle and cece for the wonder experience."
