  • Hidden Mexican Gem

"My wife, our 2 and half year old son, and I spent 7 nights at this spectacular house in this incredible undiscovered area of Mexico. The house is in a beautiful location and very comfortable. The house has all the amenities you could every need and is charming to boot. We enjoyed breakfasts and cocktails on the rooftop and balcony, swimming in the ocean, and playing and relaxing on the beach. The house and beach peaceful and private. The caretaker made sure were comfortable and that we had everything we needed. Mahahual is a spectacular 15 minute drive away and a gem of a town - totally undiscovered, no large resorts, but plenty of great restaurant and incredible beaches and water. Mahahual and this area is the way Mexico used to be. We were able to do a few fun day trips with ruins and a stunning lake only an hour away. We had the perfect vacation and hope that we can make another trip to Casa Azucar in the future."

  • Excellent experience - good place for large family

"We had a great time at Villa Gaugin for our 10 day trip in April 2016, and everything was just as we hoped. This would be a great choice especially if you have a large family or group and are into the contemporary design of the house and furnishings vs. more typical palapa-style rentals. - The house is extremely spacious (actually even bigger than it seems in the photos). There was a LOT of room for our 9 guests, two couples and 5 kids, and it would certainly not have felt crowded at all to have another couple guests. - The location is perfect for snorkeling into the Yal Ku lagoon -- no need to walk or drive and there are restaurants and activities nearby. - The water directly in front of the house was also fairly well protected so it was usually calm enough for swimming except in very high winds -The pool was always nice and is sized well for kids to play in. - The kitchen is well set up and has a higher grade of materials than many others. We did our own cooking and it all worked well. - The house was kept very clean by the on-site caretakers. - The cell phone coverage and wifi at the house is excellent, much better than I have come to expect after four or five trips to this area in recent years."

  • Perfecto

"While planning our trip to Cozumel for Ironman 2016, we came across this condominium and after consulting with the very kind owner, decided to book it. We were blown away. You have your very own piece of beautiful ocean just outside your door. After a morning run, we came back to dive into it from the diving board. We often grabbed a couple of pieces of bread to feed the very plentiful tropical fish and got some amazing photos of a large iguana. The manager, Sara, went above and beyond to help us and offer restaurant recommendations. Patty kept our condo spotless and Juan always greeted us with a friendly 'hola' outside. A cold Dos Equis awaits you along with views you will never forget and the sound of the ocean to lull you to sleep. This is the perfect place to stay on la isla bonita."
