"Only house on Playa de Ropa right on the ocean. Pool is terrific and house is comfortable. Manuel and his daughter Mitzi make the experience unforgettable."

  • Nancy's Estero beach house.

"Nancy's Beachhouse at Estero: We loved this place. Quaint, eclectic, authentic, homey. Beautiful little brick house with arched door and windows, right on the beach. Short walk to estuary and close to nature area (incredible bird life!) Clean, well equipped and well taken care of... kitchen utensils and cookware, toiletries, blankets, pretty self-sufficient little house. Double bed in bedroom and two couches in main room (one opens as a sleeper for two). Irka was helpful and accessible by phone, and Nancy's communications were clear and useful. Wi-Fi on site and decent cell coverage. The mattress was nicely firm, but had a noticeable dip in the middle. (A couple of cross supports and a stack of magazines maybe?) An interesting, beautiful, unique get away. Just what we were looking for!"

  • FAbulous Property

"What a great place to stay. This property is situated in a development called Tao which is pretty large and Tao is located in Bahia Principe. The unit itself is 1st class all the way. All granite, marble etc. I am a super foodie and so kitchens are important. Not over stocked but everything there is of a high standard. There were 4 of us and we had to figure a few thing out like the washer dryer etc but had no problems with anything. No issues with hot water running 2 showers at a time. Bob Kesner, the owner, is very responsive and is a 5 star owner. My wife and I travel extensively and always use VRBO/Home . We know the difference. The amenities are really 1st class since as a Tao guest you get to use all the Bahia properties facilities. Tao is not on the beach but they have shuttles go back and forth and easy to use. I highly recommend a car but if your intention was to just hang out yu probably could get away without one. The restaurants recommended in Akumal are terrific, Do not miss them. Also, in Tulum is an unbelievable food scene happening as well as boutique hotels, yoga centers etc. #1 rest there is Hartwood. They only take reservations 1 month in advance. Everything else is on a 1st come basis. They open at 6 and we arrived just a few minutes after, 2 seatings that night and already the 1st was sold out, and the line waiting for the s 2nd was almost full. We went to Cenzontle just a shrt walk away. Fabulous food. Ziggy's on the beach is not to be missed, 5 star. ARCA we here is 5 star but was closed. Wild is 5 star as well. #2 rated in the local area. We are big coffee fans. At the Tulum supermarket. ( not San Francisco) they sell an organic coffee called Cosecha de Altura. was $3.68 ! That's 1 lb, not 12 oz . Really great coffee. I took home 6 pounds and now I realize I should have bought more. The Finca is also good, not organic, Everything is is not worth much. Bob, I am coming back. many Cenotes, basically fresh water sinkholes. Chickin-Ha is nice right next to Azul. For some reason it is off the tourist map and so almost no one there. Admission is 15 USD Make sure to take only copies of drivers license. They cannot issue tickets on a copy or so they said. We were pulled over twice. We had a luxury car. Just pullout a 500 note so they see it. Never offer to bribe them. Just say you are in a real hurry and would like to pay the fine directly. No problem. I loved every minute of it.Instant justic"

  • They left before the sun came up that day. They just drove off and left it all behind 'em

"From the Pacific Ocean to the Sea of Cortez. Driving the Baja was amazing...we will definitely return! We made La Paz our home base and it was perfect. Great location, private and quiet with all the amenities we needed. The studio is spacious for two, clean and well maintained. The beautiful landscaped patio area was a great spot for breakfast or hanging out late at night. Christopher is a great host. Thank you!"
