  • Charming Getaway with Wonderful Hostess

"At Casa Milagros you’ll find many pleasant surprises, but the best part is Clayanna Henry. She’s a genuinely courteous hostess who goes out of her way to make sure you enjoy your stay. Plus it was Clayanna’s vision to craft a sustainable “off the grid” jungle sanctuary that allows Casa Milagros to function as it does. From rainwater cistern to solar panels, it felt great to be part of such a holistic way of living in harmony with the surroundings. Our only regret is that we didn’t stay longer! Among our favorite wonders we discovered at Casa Milagros: waking up among the trees framed through three walls of high windows; swinging on hammocks in no less than three locations; listening to the jungle at night; cooking at the outdoor kitchen; using the outdoor shower (hot water included!); hearing the sound of raindrops spattering on enormous fan leaves; walking to the communal palapa five minutes up the road; and enjoying the many artsy lights that Clayanna has so carefully arranged about the property. For our personal story, we arrived at Casa Milagros highly stressed because I’d left my wallet in a cab and we were down to a mere 20 pesos. A day at the tranquil casita eased us back into relaxation mode. Then on the day we checked out Clayanna went above and beyond to drive us to a bank, and when that didn’t work out she came up with an ingenious solution to help us continue our travels. I’m mainly sharing this as a way of relaying Clayanna’s generous nature. She’s also very open about how Casa Milagros came to be, so take the time to ask her all about it. Our one insight to offer is that it’s probably easiest if you own or rent a car for getting back and forth to town. Taxis can also work fine, it would just be easier with your own vehicle. Oh, and make sure you have plenty of storage space on your camera/phone because the photo ops will be all around you. We want to express a very special thanks to our hostess for all her gracious and thoughtful help. THANKS Clayanna!!!! - Kurt+Stephanie"

  • GREAT PROPERTY

"This is a great property well located just outside of town on a bluff. Fantastic views over the ocean, and a nice great room and pool deck. The Master and 2nd suite are very nice, the 3rd bedroom is pretty dark and claustrophobic, and needs some attention. Ok for kids, but not really for a 3rd couple. As noted by others the driveway is really steep. House is fairly dated (80s style) but pretty clean. Kitchen had some ants, but didn't bother us too much. Housekeepers are nice, don't speak much english. Our biggest complaint is the directions and maps are horrible!! The house is located just after the cobblestone ends and dirt road begins on the way out of town, but if you miss it, you drive on a bumpy dirt road for miles. Owner needs to use a town map (not a hand drawn map) or just say to look for the gate on the left after the cobblestones end, OR just give the address!"

  • Magical place, magical space

"My husband and I recently returned from eight days in Villa Emily with four of our adult kids. This place is so fantastic it is hard to describe. When we walked in the door, one kid said "this is insane!" and another said "are you kidding me?!" There is sooooo much space; the villa itself seems to go on and on, and the ceilings are so high and the windows and views so expansive that it feels even bigger than the enormous, luxurious place that it is. Everything was perfect, beginning with and especially Humberto who talked to our driver while we were en route to make sure our arrival went smoothly, then met us at the gate (as did Jerry and the dogs!). Humberto is a wealth of knowledge and help, setting us up with his friend, Beto, in Boca de Tomatlan for an all-day private boat adventure that included waterfalls, and hiking, and snorkeling and so much information about different trees, and birds and plants...it was fantastic! (And crazy reasonable.) Humberto is amazing. But back to the place. The villa is spectacular, with enough space and views and rooms and bathrooms, and plates and glasses and cookware that, other than filling it with delicious foods from the Mercado, there is nothing more we could have needed. It is so spacious that it's nearly impossible to photograph--the photos on the website truly do not begin to do it justice. Perfectly clean, super comfortable beds. Ana does a great job with everything. The view is the best we've ever seen in PV. The fireworks on New Year's Eve felt like they were being shot off from our living room. A walk down the hill, and down the stairs, takes you to Calle Sta. Barbara. A 5-10 minute walk down the quiet cobblestone road to your right takes you into the heart of Old Town. 5 minutes to your left takes you to easy beach access, with miles of beach in either direction. You can actually scramble along the beach toward town and end up on the Malecon. If the trek back UP the hill isn't your thing, there are cabs everywhere. We never paid more than 50 pesos for a cab ride home, even with six people in the car. We are already planning our next trip back...this time without any kids (shhhhh!). If you are considering one of the properties at Quinta Encantada, DO IT! It is magic. You will not regret it."
