Lovely little cabin/ treehouse. Everything was perfect. Close to Creeper Trail.

The house was a very nice and clean and comfortable and loved how the pets were welcomed and the big back yard definitely would stay again want to thank you for our stay worked out great for the wedding we attended

We arrived Thursday night to a wonderful place that was exactly what was described. The room was so welcoming, and detailed with the traveler in mind. The next morning we awoke to a rising creek and hurricane Helene’s wrath. We lost power, trees were falling around us and the water continued to rise. We were amazed and moved that the host came to the property to see how we were doing. By noon it was apparent that the town of Damascus and the home we were in was in serious danger of being washed away. We heard that people were trapped by the water and that it was time to go. We evacuated as first responders rushed into the area to help. We made it out just in time but others were not so lucky. Several days ago I heard back from our host, whose family was safe but her local shop was completely destroyed!! This is such a beautiful place and we hope to return in the future. Prayers for all those still picking up the pieces after this horrific storm.

We felt so blessed to have found Baker's Cottage for our recent visit to the area - we lived nearby in Mouth of Wilson years ago and were in town to both celebrate the retirement of an old friend, but also to celebrate our anniversary. The location of Baker's Cottage was close enough to nearby towns for evening entertainment but also quiet and cozy for time together. Our favorites were sitting on the porch with the screens to enjoy the cooler mountain air and relax, as well as breakfast fixed by hubby eaten out on the porch just over the babbling brook running through the property. It was a great little cabin with recent updates to modernize it a bit without losing it's charm. Was super-clean which is not easy to find in keeping with my personal expectations so that was one less stressor as I often spend the start of any vacation getting a place up to those standards and I didn't have to lift a finger related to that here - a huge thank you to Holly & Tonya! Btw - we visited Red Dog Bar & Bistro sitting on the outside porch in the back for dinner and live music which was lovely, thank you for the suggestion!

10/10, the place was perfect and they had great little touches like snacks and cereal for the kids! Beautiful view/property. No complaints!

The cabin was a great place to stay while adventuring in Grayson Highlands State Park and riding down the Virginia Creeper bike trail. The setting is peaceful and we enjoyed watching deer and wild turkeys while sitting on the back deck. The cabin was clean and as described. We took the recommendations of the owner and bought basic groceries and had dinner in Lansing. We would recommend this cabin to friends and hope to return in the future!

We were blown away by the beauty of the area and the coziness of this little cabin. It was perfect for two. Although we did not cook, the kitchen was well stocked. In keeping with the cabin theme, every detail was noted, from dishes, to lamps, to furniture and bedding. We traveled a lot by car during the day, so we were not at the cabin for long. Our only issue was that the road signs between Va and NC were not clearly marked, making travel confusing. GPS was not reliable due to poor Wi-Fi signals. On our departure, we did find an easier way to get to 81, so we may brave the remote location another time. 5 star cabin!
