It might be a tiny island, but don't let that deceive you. Vieques is a treasure trove of historical points of interest and it's all within easy reach of your Florida vacation rental. You can't fail to be impressed by Fortin Conde de Mirasol, the last fort built by the Spanish in the Americas. A fascinating museum brings the fort's history to life. Alternatively, you can visit the restored El Faro de Punta Mulas lighthouse or see the natural history exhibits at The Vieques Conservation & Historical Trust, before stopping by El Malecon for a seafood feast.
