  • Great vacation house

"We had an absolutely wonderful time on Isabela Island. The beach house is perfect, so close to the water. The waves at night are perfect for the boogie board, which my husband used every night. Everything is close by and Edgar makes sure you get what you need and helps you get where you need to go. You do need to bring lots of cash and the tours have gone up in price. We talked to the people in the house next to ours and found out that the tour company we went to charged us $10 more per person for our tour than they did for them! Not sure why, same tour company, same tour. Prices aren't listed for tours so we didn't know! But the tours were well worth it, the sights were amazing,. The weather was perfect. It is one of the best vacation places we have had. We would highly recommend MiPlaya if you are visiting Isabela."

  • Our stay in the Galapagos

"Casa Marina is a lovely home. Plenty of room and a lovely view. The rooms were large and the bathrooms were very nice. Andrea met us at the airport and were with us on the ferry and the small bus to Casa Marina. She helped us get our luggage out and then went through the amenities at the house. We had her phone number and were able to call her with any questions while we were in the Galapagos. She and the driver were there to pick us up on time and got us back to the airport when we were ready to leave. She was very efficient. Gloria, our housekeeper came every day and was very nice. The pier was very close and we spent quite a bit of time there. There was a grocery store and several small stores nearby. The shopping was great for souvenirs, etc. The food at all the places we ate was very good. Definitely go to the Charles Darwin Center. There is so much to see just on the walk there. Lots of sea lions. They sleep on the dock and at the fish market. My only recommendation for the house would be a microwave. Other than that, all 6 of us enjoyed our stay. It was a great place to come back to after our excursions."

  • Great place with great hosts

"Great place to stay with great hosts who were very accommodating. Very walkable to all the places or a short taxi anywhere for 1.50. Would highly recommend."

  • Exquisite family home and gracious hospitality.

"Our group of 13 loved our stay at this beautiful family home. The villa is spacious and exquisitely decorated with large rooms and spaces indoors and out. Juan welcomed us to his families' lovely home and played a key role in planning our amazing 8 night stay. Juan and the staff, Alejandro. Mariana and Aurora cared for us in every way possible from arranging transfers and tours, to hiring a naturalist, suggesting yachts to hire for private tours, shopping daily for the freshest of foods, and doing laundry. We were spoiled with delicious meals every day, enjoying the beautiful waterfront, walking in the nature preserve, getting to know Ramona and other birds who visit daily, panga rides to and from town, day tours to other islands and the Highlands. We are thankful to the Altgelt family for opening their lovely home and to Juan and the staff for their service, hospitality and friendship. I highly recommend a stay at Casa La Iguana. You won't want to leave."
