  • A fantastic experience staying in a Andean Villa with breathtaking veiws.

"The 4 Volcanoes Villa was wonderful!!! We stayed (6 of us) for 10 days and never tired of the wonderful, ever changing views of the volcanoes from every vantage point in this open, spacious and Fung Shui home. The best part was the huge indoor fireplaces with a plentiful supply of the best smelling firewood, that we had burning nightly in the month of June. The climate is cool and what a treat to be able to enjoy this as well as the Jacuzzi, filled up and ready to relax in, at your request. The glass floor to ceiling windows and doors can be opened up completely, to give the feel of being totally outdoors. We enjoyed soft comfortable beds, a well equipped kitchen, ample reading material and a huge dining table for the meals we prepared or had cooked for us by the hired cook. The walk into the village is easy and very safe, the bus to Otavalo comes directly in front of the gated entrance for 35 cents. The buses are modern, clean and safe to ride. The Villa is exactly as described in the listing, and is immaculately maintained. A cleaning woman is available if you want or need, during your stay. There is no television (not needed) or music system, so if you want music, bring something portable . We did not get to meet Thomas Ring, who was away at the time of our stay, we were greeted and assisted with all of our needs by Christina, his wife, who was always there on site in their separate home, and 100% helpful. (Things to be aware of that certainly were not negatives but just part of the way of life in Ecuador, be patient with your needs for a HOT shower, this may be inconsistent due to the plumbing (gas and solar power), and toilets do not accept flushing paper.) We stayed during the Inti Raymi Festival of the Sun, and I can still hear the wonderful musical sounds of the panpipes coming from the surrounding Andes mountains villages throughout the evening and into the night, into the villa with the windows open, and see the locals dancing through the narrow streets, and only wish I was still there. This is a truely wonderful home and location."

  • Unforgettable stay in Las Nuñez

"I'm a South African woman who stayed with Bruce and Kim in their amazing home for three weeks. It was truly an amazing experience, not only because of the beautiful decoration and architecture, but also because they are such wonderful and kind hosts. They are such good-hearted people and they are always thinking of the well-being of those around them. I haven't met such beautiful people in a very long time. They very seldomly choose people to stay at their home, because they love their privacy, but when they do, they welcome them with open arms...and the best of it all is that they give away the money given by the renters to the kids in need of the Las Nuñez community. Truly admiring and such a great example to follow. I feel so blessed that I could have learnt so much from them and their actions in such a short time. Apart from this, the beach is perfect. Las Nuñez beach is very peaceful and is a warm, clean and sandy beach, unlike the others in this far, it's my favorite beach out of all of the many beaches in that zone. Also, If it's gets too peaceful for your liking, you are only a 15 minute ride away from the touristic town, Montañita. Their house is beautifully built and carefully thought out with a lot of exceptional detail and love. You definitely won't regret your stay in this beautiful, Italian-design stone house. Thanks Kim and Bruce! Hopefully we get to see each other again soon! Lots of love, Erika!"

  • Wonderful home with beautiful gardens, great views, and an excellent host

"We thoroughly enjoyed our 4 night stay in Vicky's beautiful home. The home is located in a quiet section of Quito (Conocoto). It has good access to the highways... we were able to take day trips in our rental car from the home to Otavalo, the next day to Cotopaxi, and the next day to Papallacta (hot springs). It was very nice to return to a lovely quiet home after our day trips. Vicky has created a genuine oasis from the city on her property. The grounds are wonderfully landscaped with gardens and trees and the views of the city below are beautiful, especially at dusk. The property is behind walls so it feels very private, secluded and secure. There is a lovely pool that is heated by a solar heating system, so it was always 85+ degrees. There is also a ping-pong table, a hammock, and lots of space in which to relax. The home itself is large, comfortable, and very nicely decorated. It has all of the features you would want including three bedrooms, a fully-equipped kitchen, washer and dryer, good WIFI, TV (don't really need it), hammock, outdoor tables and sofas, and more. Vicky lives on the property in a separate home. We definitely had all of the privacy we wanted but we very much enjoyed getting to know Vicky as well. She was able to give us advice about traveling in the area, finding groceries, etc. All in all, we highly recommend this home for couples, families (our 8-year old loved this home), groups of friends, etc. It is affordable, convenient, very pleasant, and has a wonderful host in Vicky."
