  • The house is beautiful, fully equipped, and perfectly situated to explore all the sights.

"We stayed for a week with my self, my husband and two children aged 8 and 10. The house was perfect! We spent our evenings unwinding by the fireplace and mornings reading in bed before heading out to explore the area. The beds are great and beding is wonderfully warm and comfortable. Zarela lives in a house on the property and was helpful with our needs. She is even willing to prepare home cooked meals for a very reasonable price. It was wonderful to come home to dinner prepared after spending the day hiking. Cathy connected us to Isais who is a local guide. Again for a reasonable price he was willing to take us throughout the area and really help us absorb the culture. He was a wonderful guide and translator. He is also just a really great person that we enjoyed getting to know. Cathy was wonderfully responsive and helpful whenever we needed something. I would highly recommend this gem!"

  • Hospitality and so much more!

"We stayed a wonderful 2 weeks at Samana. The location is GREAT! Just a few miles from Plaza de Armas and a short walk to just about everything in Cusco. (btw if you are not up for a walk, you can get anywhere by taxi for just a few soles). Betty is the hostess with the mostest. She will set up tours for you if that is what you prefer. She had our trip planned out so that we could do Machu Picchu, as well as seeing all the sites around Cusco. Breakfast was included and was excellent. It was great to try out authentic Peruvian cuisine. The apartment was very spacious, modern and clean. There is nothing that I would have changed about our time there. Thank you for a great experience."

  • What a wonderful experience!

"Monica and Tony's apartment atop the Andenes al Cielo was the perfect place to easily access Cusco, the Sacred Valley, etc. Monica and Tony, as well as the hotel's staff, were extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Should you find yourself in or around Cusco, there is simply no better spot to stay!"

  • Home Away From Home

"I have been home for two weeks, and I am already missing Peru and our wonderful hosts in Cusco! Our family of four with two teenage girls sought an authentic experience that connected us with the culture and people of Cusco. Mission accomplished! We were warmly welcomed at the airport after a long flight, and we immediately felt at home in this apartment. It holds a family very well, with each of us having enough space to relax after a busy day exploring wonderful Cusco. Having a kitchen allowed us to prepare our own breakfast (when we didn't splurge on chocolate croissants at the bakery Qosqo Maki). The furniture is new and clean and the space very well appointed. Location is everything, and this apartment could not be better positioned to enjoy Cusco and yet escape the tourist crowd. It is just a short walk to Plaza de Armas, and an even shorter walk to San Blas Language School where our girls took Spanish (wonderfully arranged by Patricia, our host). A public market is just five minutes away if you want to pick up fresh food for a delicious dinner at home. Our kids quickly discovered La Esquina, a cafe serving homemade ice cream just 3 minutes from the apartment. You must try the lucuma ice cream for a truly local experience (delicious!). Laundry service is available at the end of the block. We always felt safe. This apartment had the "home away from home" trifecta: comfortable space, nearby food and sights, and most importantly, a wonderful family. We loved getting to know Patricia and her family, and we greatly appreciate their warm generosity in sharing their language and culture with us. Our kids connected with their kids, and we all enjoyed the exchange of hobbies and music that comes when teenagers connect across cultures. Thinking back on our time in Peru, Machu Picchu was breathtaking, and we loved Ollantaytambo's rushing water and impressive ruins. But it is Patricia and her family who make me smile the most."
