  • Wonderful place to relax or get active

"I've lived in Fiji in the past, so it was great to go back with my extended family, and we could not have chosen a better place to stay than this house in Pacific Harbour. Everything they claim about this house is true! We were amazed at the range of activities and amenities now available in the Pacific Harbour area, and the younger members of the family had a wonderful time diving at Beqa Island, kayaking the Navua River, fishing and so forth, while others of us enjoyed relaxing by the pool or at the lovely beach that is only 10 minutes' walk away. The house is extremely well-equipped and it was great to be able to choose to eat home-cooked meals or go out to one of the really good restaurants nearby. The house was perfectly suited for a big family like ours, but would be just as good for a couple. And so private and quiet! I noticed an earlier reviewer complaining about the internet service, but we had no problems at all with it. Anyway, having lived in Fiji we know that sometimes things don't work as well as they do in developed countries, and that's OK with us. We were impressed by the helpful binder of instructions left by the owners, and had excellent support from Kiti and Richard when we needed it. Really, this is a wonderful place to stay and we're already planning our next visit!"

  • Spacious serenity

"The Sapphire Bay Villa was everything we expected. The whole experience was enjoyable and this was not just because of the beautiful spacious villa, but also the helpful and friendly staff - Jope our driver and manager Ms Va. The villa is very well-appointed from a cooking, and sleeping point of view. Two master bedrooms with views across the bay and two other bedrooms that could potentially sleep another 8 people with two double beds in each. Staying in a peaceful secluded location means that shops, restaurants and entertainment are not very close. However Jope was always on hand to drive us to get groceries in Lautoka or to take us to the restaurants and beaches at Anchorage, 1st Landing or the Marina. It is possible to walk to these three places but returning in the dark after dinner it is advised to take a taxi. The charges for transport are very reasonable. The village of Viseisei is nearby and walkable via the road or the beach. While we were there we were invited to the local school fundraiser and enjoyed the hospitality and local cuisine and kava. The Fijian people are so welcoming. Internet is expensive in Fiji and the speed of the connection was very slow. However it allowed us to have a respite from the usual 24/7 contact with the world. If you want an idyllic location with great views and space for entertaining and relaxation this is as good as it gets. We were in the middle villa of 3 and there was very little noise from the adjacent villas which were also booked during our stay. I would have no hesitation in recommending the Sapphire Bay Villas to anyone."

  • Beautiful villa, pool and garden that's just right for extended Fiji holiday

"The villa is exactly what you want for your home-away-from-home in Fiji, comfortable beds, spacious baths, accommodating lounge, refreshing pool and a beautiful, private back garden. It's nicely furnished with all the kitchen basics when you feel like staying in and close to Pacific Harbour resorts and restaurants when you want to go out. The lovely beach is only 10 minutes walk along a quiet road. And the neighborhood and golf course is great for evening walks/runs. Fredric and all the staff made check in and out effortless and made us feel at home. The house was spotlessly clean on arrival. We'll definitely be staying here any chance we get to visit Pac Harbour!"

  • Exceeds All Expectations

"We arrived at the Savusavu airport and were greeted by Bruce and Jennifer. On the way up to the House of Bamboo, they were kind enough to offer to stop in town so we could pick up a few groceries. They showed us where to buy bread and where to purchase fresh fruit and vegetables at the local market. We did not expect this. They did not have to take time out of their day so we could stop and get groceries. It was very much appreciated and very thoughtful. Once we got to the house they carried our baggage up to the house for us. After showing us around the house, we were left to enjoy our week long stay in paradise. The accommodations exceeded our expectations. No need for A/C as the ceiling fans in the house keep it comfortable. The house is fully stocked with appliances such as coffee maker, tea kettle, toaster etc. We found that they had everything here that we needed. If there is something that you can't find, but need, don't hesitate to contact Bruce or Jennifer. The house does have power adapters for your electronics /small appliances and the owners also supply Pure Fiji shampoo/conditioner and soap. During our stay, we made use of the BBQ on the front deck. We should also mention that there is also a washing machine to do laundry while you're here. There is excellent snorkelling right infront of the property and split rock swim. Bring bread to feed the fish. One thing I wanted to note is that The house is not within walking distance to town, however, taxis are cheap and will pick you up and take you into town for approximately $8 Fiji. There are steps to be taken on the way up to the house. I would not recommend the mobility challenged attempt these daily. Having said this , the view at the top is worth it. We had an opportunity to view the pod house. The pictures do not do this place justice. Whether you choose to stay at the pod house or the house of bamboo, you can't go wrong! We celebrated our 10 yr wedding anniversary while here and enjoyed the romantic atmosphere Every day, we stopped to appreciate the million dollar view from the front deck and from the infinity pool. If I could give this place more than 5 stars ... I would! Bruce and Jennifer, thank you again for opening your home to us. We can't wait to come back!"
