  • This place is the best kept secret in Australia and Fiji.

"The property is pristine and the house is SO clean and relaxing with a surrounding veranda overlooking a tropical garden. Close to the beach with views to Savusavu from there. This is a real holiday destination. Although we were here for work too, it is a short run to town with scenic views on the way that are nothing short of spectacular. We are well travelled in Fiji because of our work but this is the best place we have stayed in, in Fiji (including the Novatel in Suva). We will come again."

  • If peace and quiet is what you want.....

"This place was everything we needed; Warm (understatement!) relaxed, peaceful and incredible views. It sits high on a hill. Yes, there are negative comments about this hill, but we enjoyed the excersise getting up it. The accomodation has a taxi driver you can call if you don't want to walk up, or if you are carrying a load. It is $10 per trip to and from town. We stayed in the pool room villa. We spent a lot of time on the verandah just soaking in the views and enjoying the shade. It does not get tiresome! The property is managed by Junior, and aided by two sisters, and they do a great job. I read comments about how they never got any housekeeping while they were there. When the sisters ask each day if you need anything, this is when you say ' i'd like clean sheets, or towels, or bathroom cleaned' They don't assume you want it done each day. We did a day trip with another couple to The Blue Lagoon, and then the local Waterfalls which were fantastic. There is a also a kayak that is available to use, along with snorkel equiptment. We took the kayak out for a few hours, and skimming over reefs and seeing the colourful fish was wonderful. The town has a wonderful fruit and veggie market, and Fiji meats where you can buy super quality meats. It also has several grocery stores. This holiday was very relaxing for us, and was just what we needed after a busy work year. We flew into Savusavu and got a complimentary pick up from the airport, but we got a cheaper flight back from Labasa, which was a $100 taxi ride, but it was worth it for the incredible scenery and seeing the other side of the island. We would return to this place :-)"

  • An Amazing Adventure!

"Pictures do not do justice to the beauty that is Tropic Splendor! Jeff and Susan go out of their way to make you feel welcome and included me in some of their activities, such as a water deployment day at a local village that was a life changing experience. The people of Fiji are kind, friendly, happy, generous and respectful and a reminder of what is really important in life. Saras and Panaia are two wonderful examples. I thoroughly enjoyed the coconut demonstration, Saras' cooking, kayaking, hiking, basket weaving, snorkeling and the Kava ceremony, all of which were first times for me. It is a great vacation spot for enjoying the sun, the beach, the pool and the surroundings and Jeff, Susan, Saras and Panaia expand on that to make it a great adventure. Could not recommend this place more! Great for couples, friends or solo travelers."
