"My boyfriend and I are world travelers and decided to pick Villa Vahimanui based on the beautiful pictures and the wonderful reviews from other travelers. The pictures do not do this villa justice. The view of the lagoon from the living room windows and the lanai are absolutely stunning. The condo was very clean, well-maintained, has wireless internet and a fully equipped kitchen. The master bedroom is the only air-conditioned room in the villa, which is fine since we spent majority of our time exploring the island. There are fans in all other rooms of the villa which kept the place cool during the heat. The rental also comes with a car, which was necessary. We drove to Vaitape and went to the grocery store (Super U) and got everything we needed for simple breakfasts and lunches. We ate dinner out every night. In an email Pierre left many great restaurant recommendations. We ate at almost all of them, with MaiKai, St. James and Bloody Mary's being our favorites. The experience of Bloody Mary's was incredible. You walk on a sand floor and the menu of the day's catch is displayed in front of you on ice. You put your order in directly with the chef. Maikai and St. James are more upscale than Bloody Mary's. Both have incredibly delicious food! We recommend all three of them!
Pierre is a wonderful host. He went to great lengths to make sure or stay was perfect. During our booking, he answered our many questions in a timely manner, and provided a detail description of what we were looking for. Prior to our departure, Pierre sent us a map of how to find the condo and a detailed list of all the great restaurants and excursions to check out. His two correspondents, Nathalie and Barthélémy were absolute GEMS. They picked us up from the airport after you take the free shuttle across the lagoon, and dropped us off. Nathalie speaks great English and answered all of our questions. She explained the entire villa and made great recommendations about what to do and where to go. Barthélémy stopped by every now and then and gave us fresh fruits from the trees. They were delicious!
We did 3 excursions while we were there: scuba diving, shark/stingray romantic tour, and 4x4/jet ski tour. We did the 2 tours through Moana Adventures. Glenn was fabulous during our shark/sting ray tour and Alex/Nico were just as wonderful during the 4x4/jet ski tour. We did scuba diving through Eleuthera Diving.
Thank you for a wonderful stay Pierre! The villa is highly recommended!"

Unbelievably beautiful property with a great view!
"This is quite possibly the most beautiful place I've ever stayed in. The property itself is exquisite with both an embracing warmth and an open airiness to it and the view on the expansive deck is breathtaking. Elodie was kind and welcoming and had good tips on what to do on the island. We highly recommend renting a car to explore the island and to visit the public beaches. There is one public beach down a long but wide dirt road that will take your breath away. You will not be disappointed in this choice!"

"As many have said, the property is gorgeous. Every little detail in this bungalow was considered in order to give the guest a true Polynesian experience. Even though you cannot swim on this property, a very nice beach is close by and you can still watch the waves and sunrises from the Kerebel's beach. The main reason for this stay: the bungalow. It's magical. Just make sure you rent a car so you can see the rest of the island :)"

"We stayed for 8 days. This house is well-equipped for a family or small group of friends. Everything you need for cooking, relaxing, etc.. It is a short kayak to Les Tipaniers beach and restaurant or short drive/ bike ride to Le Petit Village where there are a few touristy shops and eateries, and also the Intercontinental is close by if you want to go for a special meal or to watch Polynesian dancing. You can also walk to a small shop just outside the entrance to the neighbourhood (Magasin Tiahura), which has fresh baguettes twice a day, a small range of items, and very friendly and helpful owners.
The neighbourhood was not as luxurious as we expected, and some work was being done on the house which made the first impression a bit scruffy. However, the house was bigger than we expected and comfortable. If you are not interested in making the most of the kayaks, I'm not sure if this would be the house for you, as for us that is what made it special. So wonderful to be able to kayak out to the lagoon and swim with sharks and rays! In other respects the house feels a bit cut off. It is in a small, sleepy residential neighbourhood. We could not find the walking track to the lagoon that is featured on the house info, but did see a similar looking track which had been gated - I wonder if that was it? Perhaps the owner can clarify.
You will also need to be prepared with earplugs for the roosters and the sound of the wind blowing through the thatch roof. We really wanted to sleep upstairs (beautiful Polynesian/ Robinson Crusoe style room) but even with earplugs found it too noisy if there was any wind (plus the roosters!). The mosquito nets over the beds were useful and necessary. Our daughter loved her 'princess bed' with nets hanging over her. All the beds were really comfortable too. Everything worked fine in the bathrooms and kitchen and the dining/kitchen area was really cute. The garden area was pretty, and we enjoyed spending time on the patio area. It just needs to be tidied up at the front where there was a pile of rocks and building material.
The wifi and internet connection worked great and was really handy.
Overall we had a really enjoyable stay."
