The apartment was immaculate. It was nicer than the photos show. The family was delightful, although they didn't speak much English. The view from the patio was absolutely gorgeous. The one thing to keep in mind is the hours the bus runs (we had to pay for a taxi since we missed the bus going back). And it is a long uphill walk with lug suitcases.

We enjoyed our stay at this property! The unit was cozy, clean, & well furnished - it had lovely warm home vibes & breathtaking views of the Eiger just out on the front patio. The unit is conveniently located near Grindelwald Terminal (train station & Eiger Express) & a 1-2 minute walk to local bus routes 21 & 23 to get you to the heart of town, so it's very accessible if you're traveling on public transportation systems. It's just far enough from the busy City center, but very easy to get to during the day either by bus or take a walk to enjoy Grinelwald's beautiful valley & surrounding mountains. Doris provided us easy check-in instructions, welcomed us with prosecco, sparkling water, nespresso pods & Swiss chocolate, & was very responsive during our stay! The kitchen was well stocked with everything you need to cook at your convenience & unit was warm & quiet. The only negative was leaving... I'd highly recommend this place to anyone looking to explore Grindelwald!

My wife and I came to Lauterbrunnen to enjoy the peacefulness of this bucolic valley. We stayed for 10 days. While the short strip of commercial establishments that make up the town is very crowded, the location of this apartment separated us from that busyness. Our host, Christin, was very kind and checked in to make sure we were enjoying the apartment. She and her family went the extra mile to pick us up from the train station and then also return us to the train station at an early hour. The apartment has a nice view of Staubbach Falls, and is just a short walk away from the falls. While the apartment is removed from town, which requires you to either drive a short distance, take the bus in from the convenient bus stop very nearby, or walk like we did, the quiet setting is well worth it! We are in our mid-sixties and reasonably fit and were able to walk anywhere we wanted to go. Though, the shortcut your host will show you to get to the bus stop or to walk into town is short but quite steep. Again, the location and the amenities that this apartment offers, for us, made the walk a non-issue, and we in fact enjoyed it very, very much. If we are fortunate enough to make it back to Lauterbrunnen, we will stay at this apartment again.

It is located with wonderful views and just a few mins from the Grindelwald center. The place itself is cute and has wonderful views from the living room of the eiger mountian and also can see the para gliding landing right in front of us. Over all a wonderful experience. The bath tub though is not comfortable for someone tall.

Chalet Aberot faces the spectacular Lauterbrunnen Valley which just overwhelms your senses. The apartment is as shown and Clare, the owner, is quite personable. The location is very quiet even though the regional train runs very near the unit. We never were bothered by the train during our 9 day stay. Perhaps a few fuller bed pillows could be added, but otherwise no suggestions. We slept very well. A 5 minute walk to town or the train station was quite convenient. Wengen was a great starting point for many hikes and we were happy to have found Chalet Aberot.
