"I rented Trin's property for a family get away and to just relax. Everything about the location and house made that totally possible. The beds are comfortable and plenty of pillows, blankets and towels. The living space is comfy and functional, although because of the AMAZING location being right on the beach and the constant bay breeze we spent most of our time on the porch or out on the pier. The description is accurate and we found the property to be clean and maintained. Trin's house is what one would envision a "beach cottage" to be comfortable but not stuffy. Every friend that came to visit immediately commented on the great location and relaxing feel of the house. The house is located conveniently enough for food shopping or to go into the town of Fairhope if you can pull yourself away from the view. Trin was accessible and responded to my question for directions (which GPS is totally accurate with) immediately. I felt like I was staying at a family friend's house and not some impersonal "rental." If your looking for a place to feel unplugged, live in a bathing suit and leave the stress behind this is it. We all enjoyed being lulled by the sound of the waves whether at night on the porch or sitting in the hammock chairs on the pier. I would definitely recommend and rent from Trin again."

  • Perfect cottage on the river!

"This is a wonderful property inside and out! Everything about the décor is perfect for a waterfront cottage, casual, but nicely upgraded. The screened porch is larger than pictured, and also includes a sitting sofa and a long picnic table. The large, two-level open outbuilding on the river allows for grilling meals or just sitting and relaxing on the river. We took the two-person kayak out daily and I swam in the river. There is a large high-def TV in the living room where we watched movies in the evening. The cottage is about 15 minutes’ drive from downtown Fairhope and Mobile Bay. Fairhope is a pretty town that offers some great restaurants and shopping, an art center, a walkway with fountain along the water and more. We took afternoon and evening strolls there, out onto the piers and along the beach, where swimming in Mobile Bay is also an option. We took a day trip to New Orleans, a little more than three hours’ drive, and to Gulf Shores, about an hour away. A spring getaway with outdoor activities in a warm destination and some southern culture were our goals for this trip. It delivered everything we anticipated. This cottage is ideal for a romantic getaway, a trip for a family of four, or for friends looking for a great vacation in the south. We had read about the history of Fairhope and found this cottage searching Home Away. This was our first trip there, and I believe we were the first guests at the cottage, newly offered this season. We did not meet the owners, but they were very friendly and answered all of our questions promptly via the email correspondence we had with them. I would definitely recommend this property for a lovely vacation!"

  • Perfect for large family!

"Our extended family met at Crepe Myrtle for Thanksgiving and it was wonderful! The layout was perfect for our families. The sleeping porch was ideal for the children and the bedrooms and bathrooms accommodated everyone! We had everything we needed in the kitchen for our Thanksgiving cooking and we loved all the dining space options for everyone. It never felt crowded. We had such a great time, we are already planning a trip back for the family! Thank you for thinking of everything anyone might need! It is truly a home away from home and made for some very special memories. We were able to play games with the children, they threw the football in the backyard, plenty of parking for cars, fishing off the pier was fun and accessible for the kids. We even hired a photographer to come the week of Thanksgiving and the pictures she took of the family on the property are absolutely the most beautiful ones we have had made. Such beautiful moments we were able to capture! Thank you for giving us a place for some cherished memories! Cannot wait to visit again! The sunsets are not to be missed... truly beautiful! Great customer service! I love how they checked on us to answer any questions and make sure we had everything we needed!"

  • Girls Weekend

"This was a terrific location for a relaxing, low-key weekend with friends. We loved walking to restaurants and meals, went for a run around the area and felt safe, and the cottage itself was a charming spot. The host was courteous and friendly. We hope to be back sometime soon!"
