  • Perfectly amazing

"Our stay was absolutely perfect. The house had so much more in it available for us than we would ever have thought. We have stayed in 5 star resorts that offered way less than this house did. It is in a great private location but still convenient to shopping, grocery stores, water parks and just everything. We loved this house so much we booked it 2 days after returning home for our 30th anniversary in September. The only thing I would change is the sand burs, but that's just part of it. My husband an I and our pup Penny couldn't have been happier."

  • Wonderful place to spend family vacation!

"Our family of four stayed here the seven days leading up to Fourth of July weekend and had a wonderful time! The house was clean, cozy and comfortable from the moment we stepped in the door-such a wonderful welcome after 14 weary hours on the road. The bed linens and towels were incredibly soft and the king bed in the master bedroom felt like sleeping on a cloud. The kitchen is incredibly well stocked, we had everything we needed to cook many meals at home. I would definitely rent this property again and would recommend it to any small family looking for a beach vacation. There are two other houses between this one and the beach and the walk from door to water's edge feels like nothing. The beach isn't over crowded like in the heart of Gulf Shores or other beaches and the people around you are your neighbors for the week so everyone is courteous-most people just leave their beach gear on the beach overnight and it's there the next morning. The house is about 20 minutes from Gulf Shores but there are several convenience stores and a handful of restaurants on Fort Morgan Road if you're not up for the drive-which really wasn't that bad, a small price to pay for a more secluded beach experience. Our family left with many memories from a truly wonderful week!"

  • Clean, Comfortable, Close to the beach, QUIET

"We were very pleased with our stay at Catalina this past weekend. The house was very clean and there were plenty of towels/washcloths in the bathrooms. The kitchen was well stocked with pots/pans and any basic appliance you might need. There isn't any seasonings besides salt/pepper so just remember to bring your own. There's beach views from every room in this house ! The weather was not very good for our stay, gusty winds and mostly cloudy the whole time. We didn't see many people walking the beach during the whole weekend. We ate at Tacky Jacks & Sassy Bass on Fort Morgan and also picked up fresh seafood from S&S Seafood and Fresh Market Seafood. We liked the food better at Sassy Bass Restaurant. All in all, a good weekend getaway for our family. My one recommendation for the property owner of house would be a gate for the stairs at entrance & heading down to the beach. We had a 3 year old toddler with us and I worried that she would get away from us and fall down the stairs somehow. Just a thought for safety while sitting on the porches. Thank you for letting us rent this house for our vacation !"

  • Fantastic Beach House!

"Just returned from a wonderful week at Sam's Place. The home itself is beautiful and while we had high expectations based on the photos and descriptions, it was in fact significantly better than our expectations. The main den's floor to ceiling glass doors/windows meant even when we were inside we had an extraordinary view of the beach/water and were able to watch the boats and dolphins go by in the mornings while drinking our coffee. The kitchen is well stocked and the two refrigerator and stand alone ice maker make it possible to stock up with everything you need for the week and not have to go back out if you don't want to. We had 4 adults and 2 teenagers and had a surplus of space. The beach was lovely and Fort Morgan isn't overdeveloped so there is plenty of space on the beach to spread out and not worry about being on top of your neighbors. Greg is a great owner, very easy to work with, and always very quick to answer any questions you may have. We have stayed in a lot of beach houses on the Gulf Coast over the years, and Sam's Place is easily the nicest and best one so far. Highly recommended!"
