We enjoyed the simple but adequate lake cottage for two nights over labor day w-end. It was sorta last minute and we were happy to find a place that would accommodate us and our dog. The owner is attentive to emails and telephone calls.
The decor is dated but the house was clean. Linens & towels is provided. Bedding was adequate but getting worn a bit - some pillows need replaced. We did not use the full size dryer or washer but was a nice feature if we needed to. The bathrooms were nicely updated and the en suite was spacious however, lacking any electrical outlets.
Consistent with country lake living you may see ants and or bugs - be mindful of keeping food sealed tight and put away. (and dog food too!!) Our doggie enjoyed some extra protein one morning!
The dock is handy to pull up to midday for a break from boating - we did not use the boathouse as our boat was too large - boat ramp is just down the road.
We were surprised to NOT see a TV! LOL - but, we didn't miss it for the few days we were there! In fact, it was a breath of fresh air (literally) to be able to enjoy the quite outside both nights and make a fire and listen to the crickets.
The central A/C was a nice feature as it was quite warm out - there are ceiling fans and floor fans - but, all on the older side and quite noisy - at least for nighttime sleeping.
Nice full size frige and huge gas stove range and double oven - we didn't do much cooking but, we could have! We enjoyed a nice meal down the road a bit - Hickory Chip - simple home style good food at a reasonable price and friendly owners.
There is not many restaurants or anything near by - we did find a marina about 15-20 mins up the way on the lake that had a restaurant - we will check that out next time! (Yes, i think we'll be back!)
The lake is quite large -but, you can find small inlets to ski in and we found some cool cliffs to jump off as well! Fun times!
