  • Really nice condo, just had first day mix up

"Hi All - our condo stay was really nice. It was convenient to have a washer/dryer, cooking utensils during our stay here. Unfortunately, we did experience a major issue the first day. The combination did not work at all. Our flight arrived at 1 am, so we did pay for an extra day so we can come in and sleep straight away. However, we didn't get to sleep until a couple of hours after we got to the condo. Although, Craig was extremely responsive (even at that time!), we ran into another issue: the condo was uncleaned! The beds were unmade, and towels were dirty. We were so exhausted, that we actually thought about sleeping there anyway. However, we let Craig know right away and he took care of it. He had us go upstairs (no elevator) to a slighter upgraded condo unit. It was great, but it was a pain to haul all of our luggage upstairs (and we had two seniors and two young children with us, so that made it all the more challenging). We couldn't settle in though, as we were going back downstairs after the cleaning. Other than the first day snafu, our experience there was pleasant. It was just very unfortunate that we had the issue on our first day and thus had a later start to our vacation."

  • Quiet, great property with awesome fire pit

"We arrived to a very clean and well maintained property and cabin. There were some breakfast items available to us, folded towels, and firewood all ready to go! We enjoyed the fire pit outside, and spent the majority of our time in the brisk Alaska fall weather near a fire. They had plenty of firewood and fire starter blocks in storage. The house was great for entertaining a group of 6, 3 couples. We did notice the hot tub wasn't quite full, but a quick phone call and the owner apologetically explained where the hose was, and it only took us about 15 minutes to refill above the jet line. All in all, this property was in excellent shape, and we all greatly enjoyed our weekend!"

  • Nice Location tough stairway

"The owner is quite good about communication so we knew all to expect in regard to construction on another unit and the highway work underway. Girdwood is a quaint little town with several very good restaurants. It is conveniently located nicely between Anchorage and Whittier. The cabin is decently appointed and suffices as a short stay vacation cabin. For me with bad knees it would have been nice to know that the steps to that second floor loft is essentially a ladder. You pretty much must leave all of your clothing downstairs as there is no place to keep your clothing upstairs. This is not very private but is set back in the woods with other homes. Any criticism is outweighed by the location and the care and concern of the owners."

  • Clean, spacious apartment at the foot of Mt. Alyeska

"The apartment was clean and functional, and the location served as a good jumping off point to explore Girdwood and Whittier. The neighborhood is more densely populated than we anticipated from the photos, but the property is very close to the mountain and definitely offers visitors a glimpse into the local area. As a dog lover, being greeted by two friendly canines was a highlight of our stay."
