  • Beauty, views and comfort

"This was my second visit to this Halibut Cove cabin. The views are unparalleled - mountain ranges and glaciers on one side, the bay and a lagoon on another side. We watched whales breaching each night from the highest spot on the property and then sat on the deck to watch the sun "set" each night. This cabin has a fully stocked modern kitchen for cooking, it also has an amazingly comfortable bed upstairs with views of mountains and water in 3 directions. There are shades on the windows to block the light at night so you can sleep. The bathroom was clean, stocked with soap, lotion, and shampoo and conditioner. There's running hot and cold water - which not all rental cabins in Halibut Cove have. Our hosts, Tracey and Vince, met us at the ferry and offered to take us and our bags up to the cabin. The cabin is about a 20 to 25 minute walk away from the ferry dock and Saltry restaurant. We ate lunch or dinner at the Saltry each day and cooked the rest of our meals at the cabin. If you enjoy solitude, spectacular scenery and are content to sit and read/eat/drink/cook/converse when not hiking or kayaking - this place is for you."

  • Excellent Family Stay in Juneau - July 2016

"Our family of 5 (kids aged 16-boy, 13-girl, and 11-girl) loved the Fiddlehead. My wife and I used the main bedroom, our two girls used the room with two singles and our boy used the pull out sofa bed. Melissa made everything very easy and convenient. There is an amazing hiking trail nearby that our whole family enjoyed - the Gold Creek Flume Trail. It is an easy hike but very fun. The area is very quiet and only a few minutes from downtown Juneau and an easy 15 minute drive from the airport. Many of the two lane side streets in Juneau are very narrow but we had a Suburban and managed to get around without any problems. Parking in front of the building was big enough to fit our Suburban and the other apartment guest's car. The interior was very neat and clean and we had plenty of towels/sheets/blankets including setting up the pull-out sofa. We did not use the TV, etc. and the internet worked great for what we used but most of our time was spent out exploring. Juneau was our favorite stop in Alaska and the Fiddlehead was the favorite place we stayed. Thank-you Melissa!"

  • Ideal Home Away From Home

"Absolutely ideal for the five of us traveling together. The owner was extremely helpful and we had everything we needed to make our stay in Alaska worth coming back for again. We definitely recommend you stay at Carson's house."
