  • Second stay and just as wonderful as first time.

"I had submitted a review and will submit another one. The location of the property is an easy wide road about 10 minutes from the airport. The roads are plowed regularly and Les keeps the road clear and has a plug for your rental car to keep it from freezing at night. The northern lights come overhead or just at the end of the road to the north. Every pamphlet that is in Fairbanks, Carol has put in the rental. The rental has a printer for your boarding passes, unheard of at other rentals, large screen tv with easy instructions, huge washer and dryer, upscale cooking equipment. Les and Carol are nature lovers and provide for the wild animals you can see right out the kitchen window. Carol or les are only a Text away. There is a wonderful trail out past the greenhouse that takes you on a wonderful walk with clear signs back. Downtown is only a few minutes drive and easy to locate shopping. There is a bar-b-que at your disposal. They can offer you suggestions and every thing they suggested was informative and interesting. I felt secure and safe when I visited with just my girlfriend and then when I came to enjoy the apartment again this year with my husband it was spotless. The new mattress, bedding, loads of towels and even extra jackets for the cold...WHO does that? The Smallwoods are personable and professional and are committed to you enjoying your stay. I travel all over the world and stay in many VRBO's and have never experienced such "customer service" as with this pair. I am going to get my flight in order and stay next year also. You will be pleased with this location and the high standards they provide. I hope my first review had made it through but I do not mind you contacting me if you would like: Lerickson299 and then it would be the little @ you would then add Hotmail and then a period (.) ending with a com."

  • Relaxing stay at the Aurora house!

"Just got back from a wonderful little getaway at the Aurora house. The house was just perfect for the two of us! Lots of open space, nice big modern kitchen, very clean, and has everything you need for your stay in Fairbanks! Especially nice to have the heated floors, but the view is the biggest bonus! There was a nice open field covered in snow for us to look at every day. Remote enough to be able to see the aurora on weather permitting days. It was cloudy for us, but we were able to see the aurora our first night by driving about 15 minutes away to Clearly summit which just happened to have less cloud coverage. But because the house is just on the outskirts of Fairbanks, the view and the peacefulness of this location was exactly what we were looking for! We were able to squeeze in a day trip to Chena Hot Springs (about 1.5 hour drive away) and a really fun dog sledding tour (recommend Black Spruce Dog Sledding) on our little 4 day stay. Recommended restaurants in town: The Crepery, Eastern Treats, Jazz Bistro, and Lemongrass Thai restaurant. Thanks again for such a wonderful stay! Highly recommend!"

  • Magical place

"What an amazing adventure. The cabin was absolutely perfect. Me and my husband are living in Florida and wanted to see scenery and snow. This place was a winter wonderland. The fire pit outside kept us warm while we got to watch the northern lights . So amazing to see. The town was a perfect location for many activities, dog sledding, Santa's house, and the hot springs. I would recommend this place for anyone. I would love to come back in the summer . A+ Bruce and Debbie were very nice and we loved Molly too"

  • Absolutely loved our stay and already planning a return trip

"Colleen and house wonderful. High up in the birch trees looking down on Fairbanks. The house has everything you might need and if it doesn't Colleen will do her best to get it. Also has 2 of the most beautiful dogs."
